Thanks for the tips....I also rescued a few small plush very similar to yours ...like a small panda...etc. Some with some stains and they must be from the 60's 70's

Do you ever worry about bed bugs? I want to collect more vintage plushies but I worry about bed bugs.

Thanks for the tips and tricks. I'm about to buy a vintage barney toy to surprise my gf with on her birthday but was worried about the stains I saw on it. Can't give it to her like that. Again, thanks!

Wow.. I couldn't get over how clean & fluffy the care bear looked! great tips. Can I ask what you do for the stuffed animals with longer fur? I have a Puppy from the 70's I want to clean, but I'm afraid to destroy it. Fur like the animal you have top left, next to 'Bogey' .... ?

Thanks for stopping by my channel Sherri! That's a good question, and I haven't tried machine washing any stuffed animals with extra long fur. I think it might work to hand-wash small sections at a time and rinse them in the sink rather that dunking the entire thing. I'd probably try using something very mild, like diluted baby shampoo, and do a small area in the back to make sure it turns out okay. You might be able to use a hair dryer on a low heat setting to dry it. Finish up with a gentle brush, again like the kind you would use on a baby. Sounds like a lot of work, but if the puppy is special to you it'll be worth it. Good luck!!

Thanks, Abby, we are clearing out my mom's basement apartment since she needs professional care now with her advanced Alzheiner's. Lots of stuffed animals.

Love the video! I’ve been trying to figure out how to get green dye stains off of the plastic part of my strawberry shortcake, baby doll. I accidentally had her stored in the attic, along with a green grass skirt from Hawaii and it got dye on her skin. Any ideas on how to get that off? I love watching your videos! I had emailed you back a few weeks ago about some care bear glasses we were talking about. Wasn’t sure if you got that one or not. There were two extra glasses. I’m not sure if you knew about. Hope you have a great week! Mindy.

Thanks Mindy! Yes, I got your email with the great picture of your collection. I wrote a reply, but I think our internet was out that day and it didn't go through, ugh. Sorry about that! I have the original 4 Care Bear collector glasses, but I didn't even know about the additional two character glasses you mentioned. Very cool! I'll definitely be on the lookout for those rare ones. As for the stains on plastic, those are tough. You can try rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip, but definitely test a small area first (and be careful it doesn't take off the painted elements of her face!) The next thing to try would be nail polish remover, but use extra caution with that (and get the acetone-free kind.)

@@AbbysRetroRescue thanks for the tips. I will definitely try those on my strawberry shortcake doll! I hope you’re able to find the other two care bear glasses at some point. Unfortunately, they are a little more rare and a lot more expensive! My husband and I finally just finished our 80s room so I’m going to try to email you some pictures. Hope you like it!
