Mike, Adam's soap or any other pH Neutral soap is not doing any cleaning. It's just for lubrication. The foam is there to add lubrication for your mitt or pad.

Although the foam cannon can help for washing, the Adam's shampoo is not designed to do any "work" while it dwells on the surface. Essentially there are no chemicals in this soap that actually works to loosen dirt. It will naturally loosen dirt by being wet, but the biggest benefit of Adam's in my opinion is how slick it gets for washing. If you didn't use a wash mitt, anything you didn't get off with the water was picked up by your drying towel which is a dangerous move. The safer way is just using the wash mitt with the foam cannon.

The shampoo you’re using probably gets the job done but here in Finland we use actual prewash snow foam which is designed to use with a foam cannon. You don’t have to mix water with it either you just adjust the thickness from the adjustor screw.

For anyone who doesnt know any better, this is how not to "wash" a car 101. This is however a great example on how to end up with water spots, bug gut etchings and a still contaminated, dirty, and unprotected vehicle.

It would be best to hand wash with a microfiber wash pad after applying the foam. It is not safe to dry your car after only rinsing it as you will have plenty of contamination between your towel and the paint when drying. The safest way to go about these washes is rinse, foam, agitate with wash pad, use soft brush for badges & tight areas, rinse, then use a drying aid such as a spray wax with a microfiber towel to dry, then follow up with a second clean, dry microfiber towel to buff off wax residue.

Mike, i dont know if its your camera, has the front bumper of the Ferrari, faded... looks like it changed color... Also to note when wrapping your car partially if its clear wrap you dont want UV protection in the wrap, as if you do the rest of the car will fade, but your wrapped parts wont...

White is very susceptible to colour change depending on the material they cover. That might be the reason for the colour difference.

Clear bras?????😂😂😂😂😂😂 "Clay Bars" is what you mean. That is hilariously misunderstood. Thank you for that proper chest laugh
@cannonsloan27834 жыл бұрын
A wrap is a thin layer of vinyl that offers some protection but is primarily for aesthetic purposes. A paint protection film (clear bra) is much much thicker than a typical vinyl wrap, and is designed solely to protect the paint from scratches and rock chips. For reference you can easily poke a screw driver through a vinyl wrap where as a clear bra it is very hard to poke a screwdriver through. Finally a ceramic coating is another form of paint protection that can be applied on top of either vinyl wraps or paint. This coating provides protection from things like the sun and chemicals as well as makes the water bead off of your car.

Foam cannons are used to loosen up dirt and grime, so that when you make contact with the car, you are not as likely to scratch the car. Also swirl marks are due to a circular cleaning motion, so this can be easily eliminated by cleaning and wiping on straight up and down movements. The spots on the truck where water is not beading and sheeting may be something as simple as just needing a good wax or sealant. I highly recommend Turtle Wax Seal & Shine. The product is highly effective and affordable, so that you won’t break the bank. Also one more thing; many people including myself use warmer water in the foam cannons so that more foam is created. This is due to hot water energizing the molecules creating them to buzz faster and thus has a stronger molecular energy. Hope this helps!
@sebcoombes89764 жыл бұрын
Hey mike. I’m a detailer, thought I would share that the foam cannon will not actually clean the car it only takes away the bulk of the dirt before you go in with your wash mitt. You should use the two bucket method and a citrus prewash for your vehicles and it will make the car squeaky clean.
@cjtr834 жыл бұрын

I use a foam cannon from the swedish webstore Autodude and their snowfoam from King Carthur brand that loosens up dirt and bug splashes and such, but that product isn't made to be mixed with water, you're just supposed to use it like it is even though you end up using more product. After that I use Gyeon Bathe+ which is a ceramic shampoo with amazing waterbeading capabilites, highly recommended!

I recently picked up the MTM from Obsessed Garage. Its my first one and so far I love it! Your foam is pretty runny Mike. To get better foam you need to change the orifice to the 1.1 Another trick is to use distilled water. And make sure the soap is mixed well without shaking the bottle. Also the color of the bumper looks to be off a bit. Could this be from paint protection film that has yellowed a bit?
@MrXTeKkNo4 жыл бұрын
Also you must use an iron remover and clay bar to take the toxins out the paint before you use forced air to dry it. Work the foam in with a detail brush into the tight spots for better quality wash as well

I use a Dr.Dirt foam cannon that looks very identical to your Adams cannon. My experience with them is that you don’t need max foam mixture but the way the spray beam is set is a big factor of how the foam acts when it lands on the paint. I’m washing the Mercedes Sprinter Minibus I drive at work and my own cars with it and if the match between the mix ratio and spray beam pattern is perfect. The foam pretty much sticks to the paint for a while before it slowly being drawn down of the gravity. And the last and obvious is of curse what You use in the cannon. Diffrent soaps/cemicals demands diffrent adjustments to produce great foam! :)

@zackbell87824 жыл бұрын
If you install the 1.1mm orifice(Should've came in the box) inside the MTM you should get even better foam with that Sunjoe.... Typically there isn't a huge difference in foam quality between different cannons. However, what does make a big difference is the soap your using and quantity, the GPM/PSI from your pressure washer, and water quality. ( The quality of the water source makes a BIG difference and it's often overlooked.)

Car washing at home works only in the US.... in Europe most of the countries forbid it.
@ProjecTranceDJ4 жыл бұрын
Why is that? I'm in the UK and wash my car at home. The public power washers no matter if i jet the brush lance before i use it (wasting time i paid for) always still ends up scratching the hell out of my car because idiots use the brush filled with grit. No damn way you keep doing that to your nice cars! Esp if it's an F12.
@mr.gentlemanguy44224 жыл бұрын
Because it's a EU regulation about environmental protection (because of the chemicals of washing). But UK is maybe one of EU countries who are not taken it so seriously. (Brexit) that's why I mentioned it:"most of the countries" I understand your statement and fully agree. At the professional washing station you can't use your own detailers or chemical cleaning with a exception of some very cool owner. Even in some states in the US it's not allowed. But maybe there is in UK a difference between "accepted" and legally correct, for example letting waste water with chemical running into a common used water system instead of the sewers.
