This video shows the mmb connecting to iDrive 7 only on 2020 or newer BMW's. Your website say this mmb is compatible with all BMW's with factory wireless Apple carplay including 5 Series G30. I have your device and a 2017 5 Series G30 with factory car play. I can't connect because the process is different to this video you need to verify the passkey on the screen of your Apple device while connecting. That is impossible to do on your device as it has no screen obviously until it is connected. Can you please post a video of the connection procedure for iDrive 6?

@@krisb1860 for me I was getting some coding done to the car, he updated the software on idrive and that solved the problem. Just to be clear still iDrive just istep / software updates. Even when this device works there is a significant lag between the audio and video which I couldn't fix. I ultimately returned mine for a refund.

It seems latest BMW updates broke compatibility, but I'm in touch with the reseller and they told me a new updated box is on the way which should also support Android 11 and have an HDMI port for mirroring (for example to back screens / RSE), similarly to MMB 11 Plus box, but compatible with latest 2021-2022 BMW updates.

Anybody try this on a Mini Cooper with wireless carplay? I would think it would run into a similar probably regarding the inability to confirm the bluetooth passkey. Wondering how it is able to work with whatever BMWs it does work regarding the passkey.

it will more easier unplug the box if you want to use wireless carplay. controls by touch screen and original idrive knob. of course also voice control by google assistant

Normall MMB uses wired carplay. Lot of brands has wired carplay or wireless and wired. BMW only has wireless carplay thus needing MMB to produce a box that can connect to the BMW wirelessly. Hope that makes any sense ✅.
