Do you remember when KZbin used to let us PAIR with the TV from our phones or laptops? We would search on our KZbin phone app and it would automatically play on the TV (without "casting"). Any ideas on why they changed it? Thanks for the great video.

Casting from your phone consumes a great deal of data off your plan (if not able to minimize data consumption via a WiFi connection). It is also slower, than a direct feed from the TV. The one solution I didn't see, is doing everything on your TV, and using a keyboard to find the video you want to watch. So, a better way to go about all this, if you have a lot of KZbin videos that you need to watch (such as when learning things), is to use software such as the YTD Video Downloader. You can use this to capture and save the videos you need to your computer, then save those videos to a USB player, or DVD and then watch them as usual on your TV, and enjoy easy selection of the videos.

@@nonyabeeswax7111 Everyone I know has WiFi at home. It's a lot faster than 4G and 5G is not yet ubiquitous. Do you use your smartphone as a hotspot tethered. to access the Internet on your desktop or laptop?

I live in a third world country where we are overburdened with taxes by Zakayo/William Ruto in Kenya and $1 used to be a lot of money but nowadays it's not worth much yet more and more people are now accessing WiFi/Fiber internet since it is cheaper than bundles. Normally the Casting to your TV is a option on the bottom right hand side of the screen but these days thats getting harder to find. Is it somewhere else ?

I need a video that tells me how to do everything on the KZbin TV app, such as marking Watch Later or reading Comments. I know I can hook up a cable from my computer to TV and iPhone TV (I have all the adapters I need for that) or I can use Chromecast, but all of those require looking back and forth between TV and computer/phone which is not only tedious, but requires me to take off or change my eyeglasses each time. I am using KZbin TV app on Tivo and I haven't found how to accent Comment or mark as Watch Later. Not sure if the same on my Samsung TV but can check it out.

Hi I have a HUMAX FREESAT + 1100S box which is where I get youtube from, as I don’t have a smart tv. I also cannot find out my TV code or find any useful sites to show me how to put that KZbin interface on my TV so I can just not use my mobile device. If you are just getting videos with side by side blank, black sides on your TV screen from your phone, just turn it sideways. You may have to adjust in settings first.

While watching the video, press the centre button on the remote to bring up the menus then scroll down past all the suggested videos to get to the description. You can't get to the comments on the FireTV, however, if you are signed in on the same account that you use on your phone then every video you watch on the FireTV will show up in the history on your phone as soon as you start watching it so you can open the app on your phone and comment from there, which is probably much easier for typing.

No. There is a premium KZbin service but you can always use the free version. You may need to buy a Smart TV streamer like Amazon Fire TV though if your TV doesn't support the KZbin app. - Angus

Unfortunately, it's a known issue that older smart TVs are no longer getting updated and so the apps stop working. Firstly, make sure your TV is fully updated with the latest versions of the apps. If that doesn't work then I'm afraid the only option is to buy a Smart TV streamer like Amazon FireTV or similar that you can plug in to your TV. - Angus

Sorry M, we don't have any Macs to hand to test it. Have you tried opening KZbin in an incognito tab on your Mac without logging in? Also try using a different browser. That way you can see if it is the browser, Mac or your account.
