I have been watching many of kitesurfing videos from your channel and as many others but no body give details step by step how to pack the kite after landing without second person hold the kite. Can you make one please.

Love your work Mr. Flukes. I'd be grateful if you'd do (another) super comprehensive video on transitions. I find many others in my situation; I can launch and control the kite fine and stay upwind in 20+ knots. Having tons of fun ripping around .... but I'm "teabagging" my turns. When I dive the kite back down it seems (mostly) to end up at the edge of the window and I sink. I'm guessing transition skills open the door to many other skills/progress; your help is appreciated.

Hey Don, Sure! That would be a good one to make. Keep an eye out for it :) By the sounds of it, You are sending the kite back a little too early, but I will cover it in the video.

Hey Joe, I actually came off the "c" (bridal C shape Canopy RPM) and have moved to "wave" kites and LOVE it. The waves kites in my opinion are the perfect all rounder, so perhaps try and demo one and see what you think before getting a C. Unless your direction is pure unhooking, then i think you may really like the wave too. and even if unhooking is the goal, i am not sure if you follow us on Instagram, but we had a pro throwing down on our kite the other day with some massive handle passing ect so it does that too :)
@joehozzy26166 жыл бұрын
Oh ok. I have an ozone instinct 14m and a Airush DNA 12. Older kites but in really good condition.Don't know enough about the sport to know if they are any good in the waves, however my goal is to ditch the twin tip altogether and only use surfboard in the waves. Yep, I do follow you on insta, will check it out.

How did you manage to put it down again downwind in 2:30? Isnt that a bit cracy?? I guess is just because there is very little wind.

Flukes Kitesurfing Hi Flukes, thank you for coming back, really good to hear you are all fine :) As a beginner I strive a little to assess kite size vs wind speed. Maybe some general advice on that? Thank you :)
@FlukesKitesurfing5 жыл бұрын
@@kimfeuthoo8658 For sure Great Topic! Kite size vs. wind strength will be different for everyone so until we film that what we really helped me get confident with my kite choice for the session was to make a session log :) Before I pump up I like to jot down the windspeed/gusting to , general weather (sun/cloud-light fluffy clouds etc. / grey & stormy etc ) , tide state, Oh and location! * Then after the session which kite(s) I rode and how i found it: underpowered, overpowered, struggled because it was gusty and i was over/underpowered, had to self rescue because the wind dropped early, etc.. Doing this helped me work out my kite quiver- what works best and what doesn't in varying conditoins, it also taught me to become my own weatherman :) No need to over analyze the forecast but it is important to know before you go. I hope this helps you learn your own guidelines, Have fun with it and let us know how you go ~Frances from Flukes.

Thanks! I dont think the first technique will work on my kite due to very hight Y-split on center lines… any suggestions? 🤙🏼
@FlukesKitesurfing3 жыл бұрын
Hey there, actually it does still work, not quite a well, but almost as well. You just apply a little tension to the front line (both) and it will still have somewhat the same effect. Test it out :)
@Leowavekid3 жыл бұрын
@@FlukesKitesurfing Thanks:) ..But my point was about landing with a high Y split.. Night and day.. With a low Y split or a V split it is so so much easier and safer to solo land a kite.. Why do some (like Core) incorporate a high Y split..???? I love my Core.. but hate landing it solo in moderate to high winds . Yet i also love my Cabrinha Drifters with a LowY/V split. Peace of mind for landing solo if there is no one else around .
@strident23122 жыл бұрын
It's really easy to self land Core kites in higher winds. Just fly aggressively to the right side of the window and pull the safety. They park themselves perfectly well once you have the timing dialed.
@lrc872906 жыл бұрын
One thing is different than on the water. When the kites on its end in the water the water has some surface tension on the kite and it keeps it from launching. I had this experience in light wind when the kite would not launch it was on it's end and as it drifted down wind onto some marsh grass, as soon as the kite was slightly lifted off the water by the marsh grass it launched. Your thoughts? I'm still learning the sport. Thanks for your videos!
@FlukesKitesurfing6 жыл бұрын
Hey Tony, yes, it is definitely more challenging on the water... (By the looks of the comments I will have to make this video again in the water lol) That said, the methods of how to re-launch covered in this video will help improve your chances of light wind water launch overall. There is always going to be a limit... Light wind launching can be hard. But using the front lines to assist the launch will help :)
@ermanakbay2 ай бұрын
I used this method again today in really light conditions, the kite would get up on its tip but then fall back on its back edge again and sink. After a few tries I was able to figure out how to prevent that. When the kite gets up on its tip, do not let go of the front line until the kite leaves the water.

You thing at is sure this for beginner to practice in light wind ? I am beginner
@alexsky76946 жыл бұрын
Hi Luke. What is the best way to relaunch if you have high Y setup on your bar and there is no chance to grab opposite power line to get the desired tension?
@FlukesKitesurfing6 жыл бұрын
Hey Alex, yes, unfortunately that does make it harder. If it's low enough, you might be able to make it work, but of its quite high, then you would need to pull way too much slack in the line to reach the desired line... That wouldn't be good. You could try simply applying a little tension to both front lines, however i am not sure it that will help or not. Give it a go and let me know!

Hi there my friend. Love your videos. Have this kite for a couple of years already and so far just took some tries with some friends. I´d like your oppinion to the size of my kite, it´s a North Rebel 12", I weight 70Kg. Everyone says it´s good for light wind for my weight and they say the the ideal to me would be a 9". How can I know if the wind is too much for this kite I have? Any tips? Thanks a lot for your videos, I´m learning A LOT!!!
@FlukesKitesurfing6 жыл бұрын
Hey Luciano, great! Glad you are finding them helpful! If people are saying this "Everyone says it´s good for light wind for my weight and they say the ideal for me would be a 9"" it likely means, that in your local area, the most common kite people fly is around the 9m for your weight, and the wind it likely an average of 20-25knots. I have found this to be most common too, as my 9.5m kite is definitely my most used kite. That said, in some areas, all I fly is my 12, and other areas, it's almost always on my 8... So the answer is, the most important thing is to use the correct kite size for the conditions. This would mean, likely the 12-20 knot range, but check with your kite specs. When you want to learn on your kite, a good indicator is that most of the other people kiting are also on 12m. Don't pump up your 12 if everyone is riding their 9. Second, when you launch your kite, have it at 12, and pull in the bar, it should lift you to your toes, perhaps a gentle slight hover, but not lift you high. that's the general rule for a "perfectly powered kite", however, instruction like this is out of the scope of this message. I do plan on making a video for choosing the perfect kite size so keep an eye out for that. Have fun out there!

@FlukesKitesurfing6 жыл бұрын
Hey Michael, Yes, it can be a lot harder when you are in the water... Water re-launching in light winds is always tough... However, this video isn't meant to demonstrate ease... It's simply to show 2 other techniques to get your kite to fly again, that are less talked about. :)
