I have been watering my basic basket with 3 gallons daily and the tub below it fills up with at least two gallons. It seems like a lot of water. I've been reusing the drain through water on successive days until it is gone then start over with the full three gallons. The basket looks good and is growing.

Excellent advice! I really underwatered my fabric pots last summer---I saw the water running out and assumed it was saturated. Quite the opposite----it was BONE DRY and the water just ran out. Lesson learned.
