I use the same conformal coating for years now. Works well, easy to apply and dries fast.

Awesome! Yes, definitely it is easy to apply and dries fast.

I conformal coat at work, we have an automated machine but still do a lot of stuff by hand similarly to this - If you are going to be submerging your stuff regularly though, a small box sealed with silicone is a better bet as it stops the pins/crimps oxidising.
@BigSungHobbies4 жыл бұрын
I will be submerging it once or twice to test out the waterproofness, but it will be mainly used for crawling. I definitely agree with you that it's not a replacement for sealed box for those that are planning to submerge it often.

That is brilliant! Never thought of this, and it makes a lot of sense, especially since the electronics itself will not be modified or changed! Question: Would you have to reapply later, after a certain period of time? Or, are you able to put multiple coats on it?
@BigSungHobbies4 жыл бұрын
I ended up putting 2 coats on it. It didn't need it even after first good coating, but just figured I would put the 2nd coat as security. I should not need to reapply it later.

Chassis looks nice, also good tip on the conformal coating. Will you post a build video? And maybe a running video of this machine?

Thanks for checking out my video. I have a series on the LCG build such as what options exist and why I chose Gspeed (Pt. 1), frequently asked questions (Pt. 2), actual conversion/build (Pt.3), and this video is the fourth on the series. You can find the build video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5y2f4NoYqeohbM The next part will be first drive and my impression of it. It's targeted for release early next week. Hope you have subbed and hit the notification bell, so you will be alerted when new videos are posted. Thanks again for checking out my video.

@@BigSungHobbies of course I am subbed and have hit the bell. Somehow I missed the build part🤦♀️ I can't wait to see the driving video! Thanks for your reply.

@@danielkonrad1444 Awesome. Thanks for the sub. Yup, I have been taking it out for some quick runs, and now I just have to find the time to edit. Should be out on Monday.

Cool idea! Any stores that will have this in stock? Like Ace Hardware etc.

I am not sure, but Amazon carries it. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008O9YIV6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'd like to see it in action , I'm assuming this method will make it" WATER RESISTANT " such as splashing or rain, I doubt submerging it in water. then again can you test it ?
@BigSungHobbies4 жыл бұрын
Yup, I plan on doing it. I am working on few other videos first, then I will be taking it out and getting it submerged even though it's intended purpose is crawling.

Could I just dunk it in?😂 ive got some wire extensions so i wont need to unplug from the reciever when i want to change a servo or esc. Just wondering if dunking it in would be just as effective or not, thanks 👌
@BigSungHobbies11 ай бұрын
It should work as long as your careful with connecting ports. I prefer to take my time, so that I know for sure that I did not cover up the connecting ports.

Use "colorless / clear nail polish" much cheaper🤣 101% water proof😁
@BigSungHobbies4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I heard they work as well. Since I have my conformal coating, it will last me a while.
