Pull up the tie a little bit before placing the bar. That provides some give for movement. Also, always a good idea to place the tie bar where a button is so it gets extra support and doesn't start angling downwards as you move.

Ashley, the uniform regulations for the Marines and Army have the tie clasp between the 3rd and 4th button of the shirt. Not sure where that is in relation to where you had the two locations.

Hey Ashley, i was wodering if you have any tips as to how a guy should dress when he works in a non office workplace, i work in H&M and there are no guide lines per say on how to dress, but i still feel like i should dress well and stand out, im 20 years old would love some tips

rasmus knudsen I figure that you'd wear the brands that you are selling since you get some sort of discount. H&M is fashion forward and may not be your style but they also have conservative pieces such as dress shirts, polo's, trousers that you could pair w, a sport coat. But anything formal like a 2 piece suit is going overboard (but not wrong) IMO.

Well ive always been a fan of investing in quality basics and so on, and then buy the more trendy stuff at work. right now i just wear a black t-shirt and jeans, but it seems very simple and basic. Kind of feel like i should wear something a bit more "special?"

rasmus knudsen Makes sense to me. Black tee shirt & jeans, white shirt black pants, or all black outfits has been the de facto, "I work here sales outfit" for over 20yrs now. Thats why most stylists would advise against these choices when possible. If you are. On the sales floor, it's an appropriate and appreciated look. If you want to be more formal say dress shirt with vest and trousers or a suit why not? Go for it!👍

I wear a tie bar, but clipped to the back of the tie. I slide it over the edge of the shirt and up onto the small part of the tie in the rear and up into the little label at the back. It is then sitting at an angle but it keeps my tie from blowing around and it's hidden. I should start to wear it out front though, thanks for the video.

Should the tiebar be attached to the shirt or not? I personally don't like it attached since, when I move, it moves the tiebar and makes it hang at a diagonal.

Always attached to the shirt. Pull up the tie just a little bit when adding the bar/clip to give it a little slack so it doesn't pull like how you're describing.

john chap how do you know what type of pants he's wearing. It could be jeans or he's going commando. As long its not suit pants its fine.

That that type of breast pocket is more often on sport coats or very casual suits. So yeah, a diver, pilots watch, chronometer etc works with the outfit.

They seem to divide opinion. I actually like the look of them but it's not a big deal to go without. I'm in the UK and I have definitely seen men wearing them with a suit and tie before on many occasions but it seems to be a personal preference thing. A lot of estate agents seem to wear them, for some reason...
