My eternal winter struggle loves granny vintage sweaters... struggles how to wear them with a bigger chest and short torso without looking like a ... box , but, ultimately feeling cozy usually wins. I became a fan of turtlenecks in the last two winters, so much easier to not get cold in the winter while using them. ^^ A yellow one i have I ended up doing something similar to that last one but made a tube and put a Lil bit of elastic inside. Such a great video and is making me miss autumn already xD 💖

Yesss sweaters! Turtlenecks are my absolute fave, I have a growing collection of them as part of my winter uniform! As for the jersey knit type sweatshirts I have a few that are technically youth sized so they actually are naturally shorter and hold that waist-defining shape naturally without having to tuck it in to bottoms. They're still baggy enough to fit my larger chest, but I like that they're not long like most jersey sweaters!

I'm guilty of breaking the turtleneck rules (-.- ") I wear almost everything either cropped or oversized so I SWIM in my turtlenecks (I have a black one I just wear with jeans as practically as long as a dress, every part of it is massive) but I must say, the way you wear and style turtlenecks is INCREDIBLY flattering on you and looks so incredibly chic! I think I'll try adopt some of these suggestions in my styling and see how it plays out! maybe tucking and defining my shape would look better than wearing all my sweaters oversized and untucked.

I loooove turtle necks 🤤 I have a longish neck so I like what they do for me. I usually don’t layer the turtle necks though bc they tend to be really chunky considering it’s always cold. I’d love to get some thinner ones to style, cause that outfit you made was to die for

I love sweaters! It’s funny that you tend to mostly tuck yours in as I personally never do, maybe it’s cause with the sweaters I have they tend to look fine untucked, or else I fold up the tight band under the sweater to give the illusion of being tucked in without creating the bulk around my waist that often arises with the heavy knit sweaters I tend to need in the North. If all else fails I’ll use a Fanny pack at the waist to since in my sweaters. 😊😊😊💖💖💖

It's funny that you said that one of the cons for the chunky knit sweater is that they look weird if their too long because I have found that on my body any shirt needs to come well past my hip dips or it just looks weird. So it will probably be the opposite for me: the longer the better! (tucking at the waist is fine, but I have to have the right skirt or pants so my butt doesn't look long.)

Love this! Very helpful as I'm in the process of reshaping my wardrobe :) In your wardrobe basics (i love those videos) you mention statement pieces and basics.. How do i decide what is what? I kinda have a grasp but not really.. ^^
@TheStitchess4 жыл бұрын
It depends on your style as what might be a basic for me could be a statement piece for someone else - but essentially a “basic” is an item that can go with anything (a plain white t-shirt is considered a universal basic for example) and a “statement” piece would be an item that maybe only goes with a handful of items. Statement pieces are usually the focus of an outfit, paired with basics to build a full coordinate.
