I always had the same problem with combs falling out of my fine hair . Then I found the Grip-Tuth combs , and I am so happy with them . I have slept with these combs in my hair , and they have stayed in . You mentioned that you would prefer a smaller size comb . I have some of the Grip-Tuth that are about half the size of the ones you demonstrated . I found mine on ebay . I didn't realize they were sold any where else . Anyway , just thought I'd mention it :) Your hair looks beautiful too :)

Find a block of beeswax( I got mine at a bead store but you can use a candle) and rub it onto the hair accessory and it will grip the hair and stay in longer.

Belle's Blossoms does have small Grip-Tuth side combs, including tiny ones that are about an inch wide only.

Great video. There are smaller combs available. The Tuck Size of 1.5" (7 or 8 Teeth) may work better and not bother your ears.

The second way you show still isn't right. There is only one way to use these, which they were designed for, and it's the first way you show. If you don't want extra volume, you still insert it the same way, only you are meant to hold the hair so that it is taut against the head when you push the comb into place. The first way you show it is not quite right because you use only one hand. You are always supposed to use the hands, one to handle the comb and the other to hold the hair, with which you regulate the amount of volume.

I wear exclusively Grip Truth brand combs as they are the only ones that will stay in my super fine hair. I have also heard that they work great in thick hair.
