I think that's also why there's a huge comeback of fanny packs! They used to be so uncool and now coming back with a force. Pockets for the win

Totally! A good fanny pack can hold so much!

I've made a few pockets like this, and a few for my Renaissance Gowns out of SPITE for the Faire I worked at, which turned out quite useful. (Cast director told me that "Pockets Aren't Period!" and refused to see my documentation on them being 100000% accurate, so I sewed them to match the dress anyways and hid the pocket slits in my skirts.)

Yes, go you! And ugh, that insistence on denying documentation can be so frustrating and sometimes a little surprising. I once had someone insisting that buttons were not invented until after the Renaissance, and I was so shocked I wasn't even sure where to start - I mean, we have SO MUCH evidence!

It wouls be fun to make a single pocket that also ties on the thigh for modern clothes.
@DaisyViktoria4 жыл бұрын
Yesss I love it! Pockets strapped to the thigh are so useful, and I was also thinking this would be perfect for that!

I am 100% gonna make a pocket like this but try to do some hand embroidery and make it gothy. I'll film it and put it on my channel when I'm done :D

Gothy with embroidery...you've got me now! That sounds fabulous!!

I've been considering making some pockets to wear with my current fashion of jeans and t-shirt. They sure would hold more than my trouser pockets do. Seeing this means that making pockets might just be my next project.

I've been planning an outfit using a set of curtains - skirt, trousers, waistcoat, cloak (maybe) and now pockets. I've had the fabric for about ten years, so more than time I got it made.

Justice for pockets because I'm not really a handbag person. Sometimes I just like my hands in my pockets. I made myself 3 skirts, all with pockets, 2 of which were I incorporated the 18th-century pockets into the waistband. I love them, so much. God bless~

I love these so much! I remember the days when I could buy a pair of Jnco jeans (though they were mens) and you could fit like 2 water bottles plus a CD player and over the ear headphones in the pockets. Women's modern pockets are absolutely blasphemous.
@DaisyViktoria4 жыл бұрын
OMG I used to love Jnco jeans! Those jeans designers knew how to make pockets!

I bought mens pants to have pockets, and with how many there are, I come up to a similar volume . . . I can totaly fit a meal in there, but they are not as pretty as those pockets ^^

Ah, I aswel like hauling my s**t on my waist like a mule! Honestly, their better then a purse and more fashionable than an ugly a** fanny pack. 18th century pockets all the way! Yours are really lovely. I usualy make mine with leftovers or printed Halloween fabrics.

The hidden pockets is one of the main reasons I crossplay, security have to date never found my booze. I'm way to stingy to be willing to cough up the money for the over-priced, watered down, drinks in the VIP-tent at events

Tl;dr: like every single other video on here, she shows off the pockets and says 'cut slits!' While offering zero advice whatsoever on how to sew said slits into garments, just offers to sell a pattern on how to make the separate pockets-hanging-off-belt.
