Smokey, I really enjoy your motorcycle videos. Love the humor, I always end up laughing quite a bit. I'm in the US and currently own a GSA but I've always wanted to give KTM a try. I'm very interested in the 1290r and the 890r. Thanks again for all your great videos.

If you come from a GSA don't botter the 890. It's a fun bike but when you are used to bigger engines with more torque it can be a bit to slow down under. Don't get me wrong it's a fast bike but you have to let it work harder. It weights 30-40kg lighter as the 1290 so for offroad it's more capable. But the power on a 1290SAR is gonna let you smile from ear to ear 😁

Doing cars is also fun but some people are that "high end cars" business are not people I want to hang out with. The more money some have the bigger douchebags they become. I could push it harder but I'm worlds worst salesperson 🙈. When I look at someone and see that he got a hard time paying his bills I can't push my merch towards them trying to lure them into buying something from me. Like I said before , when someone ordered for 300€ in my dog's webshop I would send them an extra 100€ in free goodies. And when the year ended I donated a ton of money to dog rescues all over the world to. I'm terrible in making money for myself , I'm always giving 😅🙈

😂 I come from a small farmer's town like I said. Can't stand rich people who think their sh*t doesn't stink and people who think they are worth more than others. I care more about others as I care about myself. Sometimes it doesn't look that way as I got so much cool toys and people look at me like I'm rich. But to be honest I hate my government and I have to pay the highest taxes in the world here in Belgium. All the cars and motorcycles I bought is just to avoid taxes 😞. I'm at a point in life where I just don't see the point in making more money. But I have a 5 year old son. And I know if I don't give him something he will never be able to buy a house so I just keep on going 😅

Man, in general your videos are very dynamic and fun to watch. They are really catchy! I’m not surprised with your success because you created something new, a fun and dynamic style that is unique. You’re a hard working video producer and on a very creative manner. And it’s good to know that it worked all right for you along with the knowledge that you learned with it. That is something of relevance, I can assure you that! Dogs are extremely intelligent and emotion driven animals and they easily turn into our pets and family companions, like family members in fact. So it was very honest and touching to be part of it once that you shared the story and the relationship. So, I wanna thank you for that too. Man, I am a fan of BMW bikes. But, since I’ve became a subscriber of your Channel I might give another chance to KTM. That 1290 SAR is growing on me, video, by video… I had a SDGT and it was an awesome bike. The thing was that the electronic failures and messages of failures were too much for my taste and the Dealership here…is not a strong partner. I think they love to sell bikes but never heard about customer care. After the bike’s guarantee dues were gone the attention to issues turned to be like a pain in the neck, can you follow where I’m going? That’s why I’m with BMW. Not only for that of course, but for that too, surely. Hope you stand tall about your pet’s state of health and if he departs, think only about the good moments and focus on your job and dear ones. Hi Smokey, I love you motorbike content since you started this channel, I did arrive for the 1290 which I also own for more than 2 years ago already. About the traction control and cruise control issue, I can tell you that I had same problem time to time a couple of months ago, and my dealer finally fix it changing the rear abs sensor, just you to know if it pops up again... On the other hand my battery died this past winter after some "low battery warnings", so it last almost 2 years with max periods of 2 weeks not ussing the bike. It happend on my work location far away of my house, so I call my insurance to put the charger just to start the engine and then I went myself to the dealer to replace the battery... And finally, please use the C1 shortcut button to change to rally mode and the use "- button" to select TC on "1" and there you go, you will be on paris dakar mode mate! so much faster on road / dirt transitions

I'm gonna let KTM headquarters know they should make 1 single button on the handlebar that switches everything to offroad mode. Hold it for 3 seconds and boom mtc off , abs in offroad and rally mode enabled. Not the C1 do this , C2 do that , go into the display bla bla bla....just hold button 3 seconds and boom 😁. But surprised me you also have battery problems. Means they don't last that long for sure 😅🙈

You are a very entertaining guy, don't go chasing numbers and spoiling what you have that others don't. Anyway.... General rule with tyres is more miles, less grip, particularly with knobby tyres. Try Mitas E07+ and Dakar version if you want extra miles and less grip. I get about 1.5k miles from my E10 non Dakar tyre on my 1290 SAS , not great for a road tyre but pretty good for a full knobby. Never got 1500 miles from a tyre on my enduro bike.

I have been teaching many of my friends KZbin and a couple who actually put in the work are making a nice extra income. Many people don't know that even a 50.000 subscriber channel can make you a fulltime KZbinr. You are free to do what you want all week , no boss , you get out of bed when you want , no 9-5 hours. I want to give people who are like me , depressed and stuck in their day to day job an extra boost of confidence and maybe change their lives for the good. I mean I'm stressed out most of the time can't lie about that. But I worked in 2 factories for 18 years and the first 13 years I couldn't even pay my bills until KZbin gave me extra income. Here to help , no showing off what other's don't have. I'm raised to take care of others 😊

My first gopro video in about 7 years haha my latest gopro was a hero 3, this video is done with hero 9 black and the real deal chin mount i paid 31eu taxes on 🤬

Haha I also had to pay so much taxes on my chin mount 😂. I use final cut pro x for editing on my iMac. Quit using pc's as they kept failing on me. Also lending out my go pro 360 to a friend and bought the Insta 360 X3 , gotta make some footage on the bike with it. But as far as I have seen it now it's really cool! And also simple in app to use editor 😁

A very happy life is the least I can say about that. I spend thousands for his enjoyment over the years. But the fun part is that a dog can be just as happy with a big plastic bottle 😅. What pisses me off the most is when I told our local vet and a specialized hospital that money is not an issue with this dog they gave us more options! When I said if it costs me 10k to keep him for another year I would pay that for him. He paid for everything I have , I would sell my car just to keep him for one more year. And then they where like "oh yeah you know there is a special hospital so he can get a blood transfusion but it's gonna be expensive". I was like why the hell didn't you say that in the first place. She didn't even give me the option 🤔. Ps he is not hard to find if you look for a 8 week to 8 month video 😊

@Life of Smokey Haha I know 😁 As soon as temperatures go up we ride over there once or twice a month. We use the Calimoto app for those rides. A brilliant app for finding great roads with lots of settings depending on the roads and riding style you like. We've been using it for over 2 years now.

Good talk bud and I understand how hard it is dealing with a beloved pet that is not long for this earth. On a funny note, one of your earlier vids you also mentioned not to do wheelies in first, WELL..lol..When I got my '23 1290 SA-R ( No TECH PACK installed) I couldn't do wheelies like I thought I would be able to, I was used to my ZH2, SO, I switched it to off road mode and being irritated I swacked the throttle and WHOA BOY! Yeah my dirt bike skills kicked in and I hit the rear brake. I have had it for about 3 months now and have got the wheelies down now, no problem.

If you can't wheelie a 1290 SAR you have the setting wrong it's that simple 😅. But indeed it might have something to do with the tech pack. I always buy them full option so I can't ever remember what is extra with the tech pack 😅🙈

@@LifeofSmokey Yup, when in road mode only tiny wheelies are possible, like 4 inches, sport mode will allow fun size wheelies and off road mode will allow, holy crap that was fun, wheelies. I also found that clutch ups can fool the IMU into nooners😎🤘. I will get the tech pack installed after returning from my 10 day trip that begins in 2 days. If you are familiar with Utah in the USA, that is where I will be riding. Loads of off road riding.

Utah is by far one of the places I want to live. Seems like every KZbinr lives in Utah 😁. When it's winter it actually is packed with snow. In summer it's actually hot. And the mountains are awesome!! It snows in Belgium 1 day every 3-5 years if lucky , it rains all the time and even summer makes no sense 😂

@@LifeofSmokey 😂 sounds like Washington state. My aunt lives in Moab Utah and has always raved on how much the state has to offer. I haven’t been there since i was about 12. We are riding from Mexican Hat UT to Idaho on the UTBDR. We will see how far north we can get because they got record breaking snow this year. If we get shut down then, ITS UTAH, we can just go wherever.

The others have nothing to do with myself. And one of the first lessons in my KZbin course is never send anyone who does not care about your content to your channel. Most of it is just goofy stuff with my dog and you don't see me. If to many go to that channel that don't care about it , they will let the average view duration of that channel drop , so it will get less recommended and I'm in trouble when I need to pay my bills 😁. For my own safety I have to keep most of my stuff private.

Final x pro I now have but try as I can I can’t seem to get past loafing data. Can’t cut and chop as fast as I can in filamora I’ve whatched lisds if Final Cut but they all assume you have past the baby talk set up and go stage. Thanks.

Only the MTC that's all. It's the Motor Traction Control , when it notices that your rear wheel is spinning faster as your front wheel it will cut off the engine just a bit 🙂

Depends a lot from tire to tire. The TKC80 was really bad when it rains and very slippery. The Metzeler Karoo 4 as I have now is surprisingly good on wet roads. It's not a rain tire of course 😅

Have not been making new videos on that channel for almost a year. Some compilations just to keep the channel going as I'm really bored of it. Everyone who knows me personally knows about my dog's channel but there is a business behind it and for my own privacy I have to keep it somewhat a secret. I made good money with that channel , I have very expensive toys in my garage and when you find my business name you can also find my private adres in my country. So I have to be really careful with that. I do trust you of course but you never know 😅

Have been keeping that channel out of the media for 10 years for my own and my families safety. In my country your business adres is always public. I build a business around my dog and when they know in my country who my dog is , and you know where to look you have my home adres in 5min. I prefer not to get robbed or worse that's why I have been keeping it a secret for many years. 😟

I owned a 2010 Gsx-r many years ago. The amount of torque this bike has and how much power it has in lower rpm's will not disappoint you 😁. It's a Superduke R engine don't forget that. Until 4th gear I'm keeping up with my friend's Superduke R 😎. And I have knobby tires 😅

Yep BMW also 2nd gear , and shifting up to 3rd gear will lower the torque so the throttle becomes less agressive. The KTM V-twin engines get an extra boost of power at higher rpm's , you do not want to be in those high revs with a 165hp 140nm monster. If you are really good with your foot brake you can but I never do that. Had some bad experiences with that haha. I shift up as fast as possible for my own safety 🙂. At first it feels weird but after some practice you do it on automatic mode 🙂

Those videos are like 8-9 years old , but that channel and the business around it is so big I like to stay anonymous with it. Everyone I know personally knows about my dog and after many years many people started getting jealous to making fun of me for doing those kind of videos. Yes and no. Purely depends on your rider needs. If you want a crazy stallion that gives you a thrill when riding you need the KTM. When you want a bike that does it all , rides smooth but nothing special , feels really comfy riding and shifting and does everything it needs to do you need the BMW. I love both bikes and nothing bad I can say about them. The KTM is that crazy powerlifting cousin , the BMW that strong older uncle 😁

2nd gear it's mostly power wheelies , 3rd gear when doing higher speeds I use the clutch. But can't compare the 1250 GS with the power of a 1290 ktm v-twin engine. Big difference in power 😌

Turned off and on ignition and it's good to go. I programmed the MTC in the C1 quick button on the handlebar , I just turn it off and it will stay off until I restart the bike 😁
