Okay, looks like I can do this. My washer inlet valve part # is WP8181694, the ApplianceParts.com site says. I verified that with another site. Don't forget to look up your part # by inputting your MODEL # in the site, folks. I'm going to try to replace this myself and see how it goes.

In my case, it was the correct part number with the exception that my valve didn't have the nice and easy clip on part. I had the four separate prongs that took some jiggling to get the connector off. Should also add that to make sure the screw hole lines up properly, you have to slide the valve to the left so that the screw hole lines up and the valve is seated properly. Thank you to this company for these great videos and helping me save money!!! :-)

first let me say thank you for your video and then I need to explain my problem; I changed my inlet valve on my Whirlpool Duet WFW9451XW00 after it showed error code F20 but still I have the same problem! I checked my inlet valves (old and New) using an old electric wire as you described in other reply and they sound tik when I connect the electric to them! what else could be the problem?

I was getting low flow alarms and before that the bleach tray wouldn’t empty. On my washer the cold water inlet had a small removable blue plastic screen/strainer inside. I used needlenose pliers and a small screw driver to pry out and remove the plastic screen. I cleaned it out with water and compressed air and now the washer works fine. I did find my main well water filters had been accidentally left bypassed (opps) and the inlet screen got plugged up with fine sand. No parts were needed!

I am having the same water in the tub issue in the equivalent Kenmore model. I have taken the detergent dispenser out of the machine and still found water in the tub. How could it be the inlet valve then? It happens at random times as well. Could this be a drain issue? This problem started happening when I took the front panel off and cleaned out the drain filter. Nothing else changed. The water drains fine during all cycles into a laundry tub. Not convinced it’s the inlet valve. Supply hoses are 11 years old and I will be changing them soon. Any suggestions? Thank you

My washer fills with water when not in use. Would that be the intake valve not working properly?

It sounds like it's likely the water inlet valve. To test it, unplug the washer when the symptom occurs. If the washer continues to fill, then it's the water inlet valve that's defective.

The part number for my washer is wpw10247305, I assume the removal and replacement are identical right?

Thanks for the video. I replaced it with genuine whirlpool parts. No issues in replacing however I still don't get cold water. I checked my cold water supply and it is perfectly fine. I am not sure what the problem is ? can you help ?

+Shankar Rao Try switching the wires going to the solenoids. If you then get cold water but not hot, your cold water solenoid is bad. you should be able to take an old 110v plug wire and when you touch the wires to the solenoid, you should hear it click (best to have it in a vice, because it will jump a little). If still no cold water, make sure your hose is not plugged. Easiest way to check is to just run it into t bucket.

Can you please update this video with the correct part number, as other commenters have noted? We ordered the part number you suggested (which is not the one featured in the video) and now are out $50 and still have a broken washing machine. The correct part number is #8182862.
