Loved the video.......This is my favorite format. In our group we always play 2 man shamble single low-ball $2 per hole match-play. Birdies or better pay double! BTW Matt, how many lifesavers were used during this round?? LOL

I love modified shamble format but it sure can make for a long day. Scores are more reasonable even with a stacked team vs a regular scrambles, especially those that allow mulligans, string or fwd tees and pencil whipping See you rolling that Good Good putter.

Played in the VW sponsored national scramble in Australia. 1st round is club level. 1 of the teams posted a gross 57 (-15) nett 51 with their 1/8th combined handicap. They shot 15 birdies and 3 pars. Daylight and 61gross was 2nd place. 1st place was the most impressive scramble score I have ever seen. Our team had a 68gross thought we did ok finished about 6th last

I never play these tournaments with the expectation of competition. Too many cheaters, and too little verification. Last one I played the team ahead of us won @ -17 but we watched them get 4 pars and 0 eagles. My count from watching them was -9, with very little doubt including what appeared to be 6 2nd attempts from one guy despite no mulligans being in play. I just play for fun to see how well I can do.

I save myself the trouble and not play in those tournaments. I'll play a scramble if the entry fee is 15 dollars or less. The more money involved the more cheaters will show up. I will however play a 150 dollar scramble if someone else is staking a team and pays my entry fee. No problem. They canchaet all they want as I won't take any of the winnings and won't be responsible for writing the score down. I'm just there to hit the ball and drink.

My son and I played (foursomes) in the local Dove Lewis charity. One day 18-hole. The group behind us were 21-under! The longest par 4 uphill they got a (4)! We were 11-under. Did they frickin' cheat....hell yes.

In a big event regular scramble where there is BIG cash on the line it's typically two (teams) foursomes a hole. So 8 guys play together to make sure there's no cheating. It's the only way to get legit scores.

I play in a annual church tourney. It’s sad some cheat and we’ve caught the BTB champs cheating both times. We finish second when they’re not in it and give the money back. The cheaters keep theres

Pretty much a scratch or very low handicap player at a tournament like this would be considered a ringer. MSG and his team were 4 guys on 1 team that are better than probably 95 plus percent of the worlds amateur golfers

A ringer can be for any sport or game. It's basically a highly skilled person in that sport or game that you bring on your team to help win against lesser skilled players.

Technically if Tournament is Handicap based you have too many Ringers.. It is the teams with the so called High Handicappers that magically plays like a single digit for Tournament.

I play in senior leagues and on scrambles. The amount of cheating and disregard for rules is disheartening. Putts given in stroke play, 16 club bags, redos, and even guys who give themselves putts after missing them. Some guys even practice putts once they are on the green.

Anytime there is an opportunity to cheat there will be someone cheating. It's so easy to justify it. All you have to do is say everyone else is doing it. Then you have figure out how bad your going to cheat before 6ou get bounced. At our big scramble in my town the winning team shot a 51. Do the math. That's virtually impossible even for tour players. It's happens but rarely. Choose your team by the quality of liars and you have a winning team.
