Those weak isolated pawns were always going to be a problem in this endgame. It was not clear at first, just how Giri would win. As is the case in so many endings, it is down superior activity of the rook and an eventual king infiltration into the black position. It rarely ever fails, but it is not always easy to achieve, especially playing at blitz speed !
