How to Win at Sevens (Card Game)

This fun and quick card game can seem simple, but it can also be very strategic. Check out this video for some ideas on how to use your turns to increase your chances of winning. But despite all you do, sometimes the cards just aren't in your favor. But it is still fun to play.

The early part of the game is about opening. The late stages are about blocking. Your goal is to block off both the high end and the low end of as many suits as possible. That way you have control of the game. So early on you want to be leading the play towards your highest and lowest card of each suit without actually playing it. Creating blockers. So any card in the middle of these ranges is first priority. After that are cards that nobody can follow, but aren't your end blockers. Then, if you have to, play your blockers in order of how few cards are behind it (2's before 4's). The key strategic error that players make is being defensive and concentrating on stopping opponents playing in the early stages. They should be playing very open to begin and leading the cards where they want them to go.

Some of my friends love this game, I don't care for it, seems to be based too much on what cards you are given at the start.
