Just play another waiting move if they played a pawn move. You can do this checkmate in 3-7 moves as well. If the move their rook's pawn from the other side of the checkmate area then just play a waiting move.

Well yeh, but bad players tend to just not do anything tricky and go for more natural moves. I.e i bet you have never moved the f pawn turn 1 because of course you haven't.

I actually lost in 2 moves like this in a chess tornament because I'm a stupid idiot XD I was so sad because I somehow won the first round and was so excited Also my 2 friends were watching and was cheering for me too And not only that I knew he was gonna try to do this but I couldn't find a way to stop him :( I knew cuz he was the 2nd smartest in our class

I have a friend who always went for that opening as white. Every time we played this were his first moves, I would check mate him, then we would play again :D Once he went for that opening twice in a row, all in a manner of about 30 seconds. He asked me not to check mate him straight away, which I responded to with a check mate saying that he's stupid :D
