I came from ug civil war and still i get smoked man even in skirmish battles. I get that these are farmers with pitch forks per say. But they re also on their home turf fighting for it. Idk if mines bugged. But on volley in full cover and bye bye

Yeah I get that. The game is a little tougher than I would like at times, and then other times it is easy to roll the enemy over. At least the game is still in early access? I guess that is a bonus because it means things might change. We shall see. I'm going to start making new videos on this game again so hopefully I can put out more tutorials later.

I don't understand the battles in this game. I just got it yesterday and played a lot of the skirmish battles and lost every time. Even when it looks like I should be winning.

If you are used to total war style battles this is completely different. You have to take into account exhaustion and other factors. If your unit has been in the front line for a while pull him back and replace to give him time to rest and recover. The longer you leave them in direct combat the more likely they will route even if they are numerically stronger. Plus most of your army is military and not standard line, so their discipline is lower than the British line. Always keep about a third at minimum in reserve, and always be moving units up to cover for tired or exhausted units.

I lost a lot of early battles even though I was numerically superior just because I didn’t let my troops recover.
