For those wanting a weird defense that's worked for me, add one more CB to however many WRs that have. EX: they have 3 WRs, come out in dime. Have one less deep zone than they have WRs (so cover 2) Then Show blitz and shade over the top. You'll have the athleticism to cover sideline to sideline and force very methodical drives. You can try matching deep coverage with the WR count but I'd highly recommend shading down if you chose that. I love when the CPU just launches it up because it's normally a pick. The only con to this defense is the rush defense. An alternate setup is simply pressing your CBs so you can pinch the DL and LBs to force runs to the outside. There are variations to this that the user can tweak

Year 1 in my Ball State rebuild on Heisman I went 7-5. Two of my games I had the same or a higher overall than my opponent and one of those was FCS. I noticed that while my team was inferior to my opponents, I really had to play the game as if I was playing for real. Limit turnovers, makes smart decisions with the football, don’t run the same plays. I also had to get into situations where I just needed to hold the ball and have long drives. Heisman is not impossible, but it definitely isn’t as easy as NCAA 14.
@andreivory84354 ай бұрын
The game is fun, BUT defense is not about difficulty levels or ego. Defense in this game is frustrating because of bad angles to tackles, defensive secondary stopping or slowing on routes and getting sucked into blocking animations. EA needs to address this the same way the had to address defense in M23 and M24.

My advice is first, find a playbook that fits your style of play and master it. Start the game off by playing it on varsity. Then develope your playing skills and play calling, then when your all comfortable with your play calling and knowing what you can and cant do just keep on playing. Then move up to all american develope your skill set some more and play calling. Then after you feel you have everything masterd then you try heisman then and only then. This game and other games are alot more fun when you play them with then your skill set and not trying to do what you see other ppl who has stick skills do.

One thing this game does, that I didn't even realize until I started watching Mills play his Dynasty, is make halftime adjustments. I started a UK dynasty yesterday and in the first half it was just Barrion Brown going on streaks almost all the time whenever it was man coverage. Most of the time it was a TD. I was up 21-3 to South Carolina. Next half I tried doing the same thing and ended up either getting blitzed nonstop resulting in sacks or bad passes or I was throwing interceptions because of the safety now focusing on him over the top. I was getting ready to rage, but then I remembered Mills saying the game makes adjustments and if you don't adjust then you're going to have a lot of teams comeback and beat you. I decided to start running the ball more and dink and dunk which resulted in me winning 37-30. It was actually kind of nice to know the game adjusted so it wasn't a lopsided blowout and made me really think about changing my strategy.

It was definitely an adjustment period but I think I’m ok now.

Pocket climbing and clock burning is the best way to do it. I was using a P5 school and was about 15 years in so my coach tree was filled out on ncaa 14 but had a guy go 60+ TDs and 0 INT's just by climbing and working the drags with calculated deep passes on Heisman. My defense had 30+ turnovers because I'd run the clock under 5 seconds every play and never punted with my starters in.

I dont think the difficulty itself is the problem, its how EA defines their difficulty increase. They dont make the ai play smarter. They make them cover receivers they arent looking at and run straight for the ball yet your ai players stare into space as players run at them and blockers sometimes just run past everyone and do nothing. Atleast if they made it look realistic but they just do it in such a blunt way it ruins the experience.

I was playing and barely beating the CPU 38-37 or 45-42 and every QB I faced went 25-27 4 TDS 0 picks or something like that. THE ONLY ISSUE was on defense if you play the D line just press X to pressure and shed the lineman. That one move completely changed the game. The QB recognizes it and it forces him to throw early or in some cases get through for a sack or pressure. It’s not in the online manual or anything like that but it’s the most effective play. Yes you can use the right stick but a combo of them both will completely change the game.

I get what you mean about "You're not always going to get 5 seconds to pass" and yeah I agree. But I'm at Marshall, playing western michigan. They're getting blocksheds within a second of me snapping it. I am completely limited to underneath passes, so I can't even think about going 10-15 yards down the field. Waiting for an in route to even hit its break when its 10 yards down the field is almost waiting too long at this point.
@EricRayweather4 ай бұрын
I assure you they aren't shedding within 1 second every play, unless you are holding the sprint button in the pocket or running PA plays constantly. There are opportunities to hit that 10 yard In if you climb the pocket, but yes you can't hit that every play. Often times you do need to take underneath, that's smart football. But if you climb the pocket and practice doing things the right way, you will see that you will have chances to hit the deeper routes at times. But if you're just deadset on going there too much, you won't have success playing on Heisman, so lower the difficulty if you want to do more of that.

I guess I'll have to next game I film like this. It's really not that deep, I didn't gain a following here by cheating the system or giving out bad advice. People will think I adjusted the sliders cause that's more believable to them than admitting it's possible to win games on Heisman for some reason.

Can you make a video on how to beat the FCS schools on Heisman next?
@mattymatt0113874 ай бұрын
That was a fun watch. That stop at the goaline on the 2pt conversion I was cheering w you organically lol I will say that the epic stop of that option at the end should’ve been a fumble. Backwards pass dropped. Game glitched in that scenario

Thank you I will try this because the struggle has been real for sure 😅

@@EricRayweather cool, i just started a JSU dynasty on Heisman. Its rough!!!

Offense isn't an issue on heisman as long as I dont make dumb decisions. Defense is tough tho still. Adjusting the pass coverage player slider to 53 made it much better

It possible to win on Hesiman it just really hard. special going against Sec schools but that should make sense it the what competition.You have to call plays to set up other plays. I say running that ball a lot works.Done 9 years with Tulane won 1 natty and put us in the sec. It was hard at first bc I went 4-4 but this year I’m 3-1. You have to be good to play hesiman

Love this video. Maybe do another one where you use more advanced stuff like shifting the O line, ID the mic, actually be able to audible and hot route lol etc.

Speed option, 4 verts in empty set with a drag, and learn to step up in the pocket to scramble instead of out.

The problem I have is the offense on All American is too easy but I can’t play on heisman yet because I would get shredded on defense.

Great video! Thanks for all the tips.

Highly appreciate this thank you. I would love more things like this to help me as I try to understand this game. The issue is is I'm decent enough that varsity is easy. And I'm struggling on All-American should I go back to varsity to fix the things the things I'm doing wrong or try to fix it on All-American
@EricRayweather4 ай бұрын
If you're at the point where Varsity is too easy and not as fun I would stick with All American and just take your lumps til you get better, or you can use All American and adjust sliders a little bit, but I wouldn't stay on a difficulty that you feel is too easy unless you're having fun.

I only have this after long absences, remembering this stuff. Woke up played Charlotte as Indiana and my game sense was off got a little to confident but rallied from losing first half 24-10 then realized oh shit im doing the bad habits won 42-38 got it done got to confident for my matchup against Maryland got the breaks beat of our team then faced Northwestern and it all started bad...then got to basics thinking forcing the Cpu to beat me and well 38 - 14 was dope especially since Northwestern runs its hurry up ball.

A simple way to be successful at any level of difficulty on Madden or College Football is use the rule: 1. If there are 2 high safeties run the ball. 2. If there is 1 high safeties pass the ball. You'll need to understand if they are cheating to rotate to either post snap but for the majority of plays you will be successful. You will also end up running the ball more often then not but that will lead to bigger play action opportunities and higher percentage throws. Goal of each play should be to work towards a first down and not think about the drive overall aka real life football.

This is solid . I consider myself decent but find this playstyle boring. But I’d rather play like this than get frustrated throwing 2 picks every game so you are 100 percent correct on how to actually play the game and be competitive with garbage teams
@braxtonbragg28474 ай бұрын
Anybody else adjust your defenders and then they run back to where they were pre snap? Happens to my middle linebackers all the time. Try and pull them down to fake a blitz and as soon as I switch to the other linebackers, he runs straight back to starting point.
@Ace-o3g4 ай бұрын
It maybe because you have “defense assist” turned on in the settings.

@@Ace-o3git’s off, and it only does it with the linebackers. I can move defensive backs fine.

Look fellas, I get it. You feel like the game is constantly screwing you and it’s frustrating. I’ve won a national championship with ECU on heisman with default sliders. However, your most realistic experience on heisman in my opinion would be with Matt10’s college football 25 heisman sliders but whether it’s default sliders or adjusted sliders you still have to play smart football regardless. Ray just showed you it’s possible. Don’t be afraid to lose cause you will not win every game. Everything is a process on heisman and nothing is a guaranteed win
