I really appreciate you sharing this lecture and your content, here, and on your amazing blog. This talk clarified and help me see some aspects of creativity in a new way. I have a number of students struggling right now trying to create a epic thesis idea out of thin air and I think discussing the strategy of combing two existing (things) will be freeing.

Thank you, Rebecca. Especially because, as you can imagine, so very few people respond to anything anyone does, so one ends up floating about like that lost luggage that circulates in outer space. Fortunately, we have inner motivations that propel us to keep creating things, to felling our trees regardless if someone is actually there, in the forest, to hear us. Of course, I don't know who you are, but (online snooping) we may both be RISD graduates, and apparently you are a teacher, and we all know what that might entail.
