I play Rhystic Study in Cedh and casual edh and I have realized how much competitive players respect the 1. They will pay it probably twice as much as casual players because they realize that paying that 1 is so much more valuable than getting me closers to my combo. On the other side of the spectrum in casual people seem to disregard the 1 and they don't realize the value in getting until they look over and see my 10 card hand. So in short, pay the 1 unless you're gonna win

I definitely agree with the get in early attacks. However I do believe your resolution is a bit off. If someone starts a vendetta against you, that is bad for you. They won't be making decisions that will help them win which is you were getting at. However, your stuff will get removed meaning that it will be much harder to win. When a player loses percentage points to win at a given point, they aren't given back to the table equally. Your other two opponents are scooping up the advantage when two people feud
@NitpickingNerds3 жыл бұрын
I think the position of going full vendetta mode after getting attacked for any amount of damage is just untenable. @stevenkuykendall86732 жыл бұрын
@@grubgobbler3917 Hurricane as a win con seems like an odd corner case for elves. I feel like most of the time you'd be better off with another infinite mana outlet that buffs your elves or something like that. If your set on killing everyone with Hurricane so you dont have to do a combat step, you're still probably better off with something like Staff of Domination to give you infinite life instead of just a small amount per elf, and it gives you another way to get infinite mana and draw.

1 Wellwisher in a 99 card deck isn't useful unless your deck is benefiting from gaining life every turn or via other effects. Creature cards with no abilities is another example. Build a deck so your commander is a threat or focus point and in your opinion should be removed if U come across it. A card that U would hate to be used against U is possibly something U should use. Value is a very important... say u have an opt card, replace it for Preordain has more value. Murder vs Doom Blade, or if u can still find them Counter Spell vs Cancel...ect

I don't completely agree with prioritizing instants over sorceries. If you hold up 3 mana to possibly cast anguished unmaking on an opposing Ghalta only IF it attacks you... thats 3 mana you basically don't get to use to advance your game plan this turn. If I have 5 mana on turn 4 and its a choice between holding up 3 mana that I might not even end up using, or casting a 5 drop... I'll cast the 5 drop and take 12 when Ghalta swings every time. Or if I really need to make sure Ghalta never gets a chance to attack... guess what, I didn't need to wait untill my oponents turn to know that... I could just cast it on my turn for less mana because sorcery speed spells are more mana efficient and then double cast for a 4 drop to further my board state anyway. Nothing feels worse to me than holding up 2 or 3 mana to cast an instant and then never actually needing to cast it... wasted mana.

Well we aren't talking about holding up or playing other cards we are talking about using the mana on the removal either way. So it being instant speed is strictly better

Keep Wellwisher in there. Sylvan library? A staple for almost any Elf tribal deck. Politic your enemy. Make them your minion/s from a place of power if you can. And...Never turn your back on a control deck. Great tips guys! Shared this vid with a new player...yeah, he's winning more games as of late. Thanks! Much love and damage to ya! Arcmage.

I do like this and it is important but something I wanna stress to people: at properly balanced tables, you'll still only win ~25% of your games!

I have sooo much truble saving removal. I just feel the urge to blow up stuff all the time :D also I'm the only one in my playgroup who runs 8-10 removal spells against the 3-4 other people play, so I end uo taking care of everything and being left with nothing to protect myself ^^'
