Well done! You answered so many questions for me. Your set up looks fantastic and your presentation is perfect! Thank you for your hard work.

I have a 5 gallon bucket with only two nipples installed. I put into the bucket a submergible water heater (bird bath defroster), the lid has a small cut on the side to accommodate the wire. The bucket hangs outside in the sunny location, I also painted it black, 1/2 full. The water stays clean, easy to bring home for the night if you want to keep electrical bill lower. I live in zone 4 and used it for three winters.

We built a rollaway egg box but haven’t gone through winter yet. Frozen eggs are a real possibility here in Utah but a heating element is genius! Would love to know the magic of that install. Perhaps you can add a link for it too? Some seriously well thought out info here. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve actually since switched over to a different laying box and use heated seedling mats in there. I have a video on that oje

I have been looking forward to this video. Really helpful. Thanks a lot. One question though, will the electric poultry netting stop predators like coyote?
@thehomesteadingrd Жыл бұрын
You're welcome and yes, it will absolutely stop coyotes. We have lots of fox, coyotes and wolves and none have gotten through :)

I’m loving your videos. I just have a question on the poultry fencing. Can you leave that up in the snow? It seems like a silly question cause I’m guessing no but I’m just curious how you dealt with it in the snow.

We’ll find out! I’m leaving mine up for the first time this winter

Why not use plastic sheeting instead of polycarbonate?

This is the second video that I've seen from your channel, and I have to say that from what I've seen thus far... *you rock!* And so, bearing all this in mind then, if you ever just have the mood strike where you think "I feel like getting divorced, leaving my friends and family, quitting my job, travelling half-way around the world to Melbourne, Australia, and starting a whole new life..." Well, then my advice would be to go where the mood takes you. Don't listen to that annoying little voice of reason. And just follow your heart! I mean, who would _I_ be to stop you? ...I'll be waiting at the 'International Arrivals' gate! 🐣❤🐥 Ummm, you know, just if the mood strikes you, that is... And, well, ummm... I kinda hope it _does!_ No, in all seriousness, *great video!* It must be bordering on incurring criminal charges that this has as few views as it does! Love your enthusiasm, love your practical yet care-driven ethos, love the tips (soooo many good tips!), love the location, and love the coop! You've knocked it out of the park, as I believe you guys say over there. Brilliant! (Just whenever the mood strikes... I'll be waiting... Whenever the mood strikes❣️)
