Paul, I just can't stop watching your video's on the Model A. I've always liked Model T's but I never knew the difference between a Model A, T, or the rest. To me they were all Model T's. You really make it interesting to learn about them, even though I'll never have one. I do love these old cars and I thank you for keeping the alive.

Paul, thanks for another great video. Since COVID, our club meetings have been nonexistent and your channel certainly helps to fill the void. You’ve inspired me to get out to the shop, crank up the heat and finish the brake overhaul on my ‘30 Deluxe Coupe (which I’m sure you know gets pretty spendy if done correctly). A donation has been sent and I’m encouraging others to do likewise.

I love that you also tell us some side info - why certain things short/bend if other things are mounted in certain ways - that makes a good teacher. Not just saying "It's that way", but "It's that way, BECAUSE..." I checked my distributor (with modern condenser) and found it has a dummy plastic cylinder where the original condenser is mounted. Also a neat idea to keep things from bending out of shape! All the Best Adrian

No trick to i stalling the cable. Service does not require pulling the sheath, just the inner cable. With the speedo out, just grab the cable and pull it out of the tube. Clean it, lube it, slip it back in. Done!

Paul, This video was very interesting and I enjoyed it immensely, but I have a problem. I've become addicted to your videos. Yep, it's true. I don't know what I'll do once I've seen all of them. I guess start watching them from the beginning. Or, send lots and lots of money to pay for a production crew. You're great! I want to add that I would never make fun of you because I respect you, and that I actually do support you in your analogy of that dream sequence regarding your widow and being certain to lube-the-distributor. It sounds awfully familiar. Oh, that's it-- I tend to think in that form too. It is amusing in a sense but I believe these things come to people that make sure all bases are covered right down to if they were no longer here on Earth. I consider that being integrity as well. I'm hearing bad things about Points now adding to the ongoing issue of poorly made Condensers. Apparently, Points now being sold in the big-box auto parts stores are coming through with the rubbing block being made from a type of plastic that does not hold up for very long. This obviously is contradictory to the fibrous material rubbing block we've had for decades. I hope that the good Model A part manufacturer's don't make a change-over to these inferior Points and Condensers. Have you any word of this? What is the tube inside of the radiator fill neck? If a given Model A were a daily driver, About how many miles would go by until the distributor needed to be lubed again? God Bless
@ModelA3 жыл бұрын
You can make fun of me any time you want. You have my blessing. I make fun of myself as much as possible. Yes, have experienced that with points. I went back to "original or nothing" on points. But I have a bag with about 50 sets of original points in it, so I'm set for life. Call Steve at Bert's Model A Supply and order your points from him. Tell him you want the good ones. The tube in the radiator fill neck is the overflow vent. I lube my distributor much too often. But I have never had one seize on me or points show any wear. I do it whenever I feel like it. I don't go by miles.
@discerningmind3 жыл бұрын
@@ModelA Thanks Paul. I can't figure out how the vent tube being inside the radiator cap area can work, but I'll put some study into it. I'm adding Bert's Model A Supply to my resource list for my some day Model A. Thanks again.
