great video. So if I was doing this in reverse in spring time would the correct procedure be to first make sure water pump is off, then run the antifreeze out of my faucets/showers, then fill up my fresh water tank and then put on pump and run faucets/showers again until only water comes out? Sorry I'm a newbie tying to learn.

Good video. One point of contention. @0:47 you refer to holding tanks which are for sewage (black water). In this video the fresh water tank(s) were used/winterized.

Thanks, Eddie, great help appreciated, Sailboat shower bilge was full of water and bilge pump will not suck until zero there is always some water i pure antifreeze pump it out once more same but I m sure still some water there because bilge pump suck at 1/2 inc level of water plus winter time always some extra waters will come in bilge :S i did my best pure some antifreeze and pump again lol i will write at may to see what is going on,

How do I make the water safe to drink after. I have a small 22’ deck sport chaparral boat. It has a 60 litre holding tank. When I turn the pressure on 3 weeks ago, it came out blue. Now I do not think it’s safe to wash hands and fruits. I am new to this water holding tank system. My other small runabout had none of this. Thank you.

Absolutely. I do that as wall now. But I still put 2 gallons in afterwards. and then run it Through. You will use less antifreeze.

Thanks for all your great info videos. When you are winterizing the water system I presume that the water you are draining out of your fresh water holding tank is going into your grey tank? What procedure do you follow to winterize the grey water holding tank? Thanks

I pump out my waste tank at the end of the season. When I winterize the freshwater system I run the antifreeze through. Bowl, Into the vacuum flush system. So it doesn’t freeze

I have an old boat where you can hook a hose up to it. The manual says this bypasses the boats pump system and uses pressure from wherever the hose gets pressure. How the heck do I get antifreeze in that system ?

You would have to close the through hull seacock. Then open the water input valve Attach a hose to that hose. The other end into a bucket of antifreeze. Run the engine and it should pull through the engine. (Just make should the Antifreeze is going down) when the antifreeze is coming out of the exhaust your good.

Why did putted the antifreezer? I am living in an area with rare snow. The procedure on the video should can be avoided if just we empty the boat from water. Also do we have to do it on waste tank? Please someone to answer

that would be OK if you can get all the water out of the system but I doubt you can. I would not take a chance. The damage would be expensive and a pain in the ass.

I think the sewage holding tank should be emptied as much as possible, then pour several gallons of antifreeze down the toilet. The label on the antifreeze jug says make sure the holding tank is full. That does not compute. This must not be correct. (My toilet is flushed with lake / sea water. Not water from the fresh water holding tank. So I close the sea-cock for the toilet flush water intake, disconnect and drain the line to the toilet pump, then when I flush antifreeze down the toilet no water is added. )

You can always blow out the water system with the air compressor. but only use like 15 to 20 pounds of pressure.
