That was a really good video. One comment, however, when setting the hook, the rode should be attached to a cleat. The windlass should not be the point holding the boat. Very nice job and thank you!

Also noted, no compass anchor bearings were taken and plotted on a chart in order to calculate the swinging circle. OK the GPS anchor alarm was in use, but if it fails especially during the night . . . . .

I believe you failed to mention nose in the wind and start drifting back before dropping. Sailing yacht Talisman has a pretty good video on it.

Thank you for your kind words. I’m still great.lol 🤣. Sorry I had to raise my son on my own. That took away a lot of my free. time to make videos. difficult part is editing the videos. It does take a long time. I missed making videos last year, because I had a bad fall off the boat. But and hope to get back on track this year. 🤙⚓️

I just bought a boat from a good friend who moved to Florida. I have the same engine as you the 5.0 and the bravo 3. Will be keeping it for the first time at the BayShore Marina. @Bogy 1 Kinoby for people in the boating world, the only time rope is actually called rope is new on the spool. Rope attached to an anchor is a rode.

Err… Dam sure I’d be wearing an auto-inflate or manual life jacket. Three years ago I pulled a guy out of the water after he’d slipped on deck when anchoring. Fortunately he was wearing a lifejacket, but couldn’t get back into his boat. After all, we all use seatbelts in our cars, so why not a life jacket when on the water?

It seems the narrator only called the rodes 'rope' when he was distinguishing the section of rode that was made of rope rather than chain. Besides, it's a motorboat.
