How to Winterize Your Fig Tree: Two Methods

I have had my fig for about 5 years now and it has thus far refused to fruit at all. I dug it up and brought it in the house this year. It seems to be doing well but still no fruit yet.

Get rid of it and buy another 1 or 2 don’t waste your precious time on that one. I have over 45 varieties and all but 2 give figs the FIRST year. Life is short. God Bless Happy Thanksgiving

but the trash can wont allow air to go inside if it got coverd with snow i mean

Air flow isn't something that's important in the winter. The most important thing is to protect the fig tree from the cold temperatures and in order to do that the leaves do need to stay dry.

I'm using a plastic 55 gallon barrel over my figs.
