@TheWackoER A thermostat will keep it at a programmed temperature regardless of the relative temperature of the room. A dimmer may need to be adjusted as room temperatures fluctuate.

my eleven inch strip has two wires mounted already, one black, one white the strips on the side, covered with a black tape like seal. I wired a lamp cord to those and it did not work, is this not set up yet or what is going on, the instructions don;t even explain.

I turn the clips the other way so they don’t stick out the sides it’s just better and the wires aren’t fighting each other to be straight
