I have an epi with one p90 , one tone and one volume , no switch so will this be the same wiring, the pickup just has a tiny red and white wire coming out of it. Your videps are the best, clear and to the point.

Not exactly what I was hoping for but educational. I bought a prewired kit for my Les Paul Jr. and wanted to know where to solder the bridge pickup wires. Since this is the first time I will be soldering I don't know where the wires go. Any tips?

Thank you very much for this excellent video. Even a relatively simple guitar wiring job becomes confusing (for a novice like myself) when you start trawling the internet and finding so many variations. Most diagrams leave out important info like what kind of wire to use, and don't give the finer points like how to actually do the work. So well done! I have only one question: Fralin's website shows a version of this '50s Jr wiring with one difference - the cap is soldered to the back of the tone pot. Is there a good reason to do that, or a significant difference to the outcome (sound)? Thanks again.

Why don't you wrap a wire around the braided part where your going to the pot.. and solder the wire to the braid and the pot.? Would that work?

I think he was wiring it "50's" style. The treble doesn't fade as much when you turn down the volume. Vintage Gibsons were wired this way.

Sandy Turner yes. Unless you have a switch, then they go to the switch.

I've wired up my Epiphone junior 3 times exactly as you show with a bridge humbucker pickup and can get no sound. Can you help. Using 500 audio pots.

make sure you've connected the main ground from the bridge

@@SixStringSupplies I soldered a ground to the volume pot and left the other end bare and pushed the bridge plug down onto it. Are you saying this would keep me from getting any sound ?

Hi Jeff, have you followed the diagram? www.sixstringsupplies.co.uk/les-paul-junior-wiring-diagram it impossible to diagnose without looking at it. If you are getting no sound at all then a ground connection is shorting the circuit. Feel me to email some photos of your circuit to [e-mail]

@@SixStringSupplies So sorry for the caps....I didn't mean to shout lol.. i just wired it up with the 250 for the tone pot ..i used a single P-90 Tonerider Hot P-90 with your kit to rewire my first guitar, I got on loan at the time from my dad nearly 40 years ago. 63 Gretsch Corvette wine red with the 2 top 4 bottom tuners headstock and BURNS pre Bigsby tremolo viblola or what ever else ya may call it; It was heavily played and chopped and modded when I got it at age 11 and I put 5 hard years on it during the Motley Crue SATD years before giving it back to Dad after I got what I thought was an upgrade. Since then it went through both my younger brothers and now back to me....I never was intentionally hard on it but buckle rash don't have shit on an arm full of spikes..lol any way Ill send a vid if it sounds good. Don't worry about sending another pot either way. thanks for the wiring tutorial.
