This is the only video that explains it properly. It should be on the top of the list.

Hello Ecologicaltime, I've been researching this for myself but this may also interest you. Dahua sell the ARB1606, which is an extension module to a recorder unit for more alarm inputs and outputs. Might be something interesting, Cheers.

My second question: I am using my old 12V 7Ah alarm batteries to power lights in my house during loadshedding. I have big dreams with that! Can I keep this permanently on a 7A Motor Cycle Smart Charger connected to the mains? As you know loadshedding is not getting better! Love your videos.

I've been using this setup for about two years and up to now my house is not in flames.. I have a total of 15 (7ah lead acid ) batteries all connected in parallel supplying power to 5w dc downlights and three 10w dc fllod lights.. Woeks lekker with no issues

I am using a 10A 7stage smart charger, dc day-night switch, 250v Ac relay, 12V dc relay, battery protector. These are basically the main components of my system... The only thing I baoght was the charger and the rest I got from the junkyard. This is now grid interective and serves as a backup when loadshedding hits...

I have two questions: 1) Your power supply looks like one of my alarm supplies. It uses 12V 7Ah battery. I would like to connect another 7Ah battery in parallel, BUT I am do not want to blow up the power supply. Also I am not sure that it can effectively charge it effectively. What do you think? My next question is another comment.

That won't have any problem as long as you don't connect the two batteries in series.. The only problem might be the time it takes to charge the two batteries
