A convincing argument to support individual micro-inverters.

That's true. Even though the voltage of two panels same, if the internal resistance differs, it efficiency gets affected.

If you have two different charge controllers, can they be connected to one battery?

So I have 3 mismatched panels in parallel. 1st one 18.1v, 5.50 amps, then 18v, 13.49 amps, 18.2, 16.5 amps. I had the smallest one first, then the bigger ones. At 1pm I was getting only getting 250 watts from all 3. I should have gotten over 600 watts using the lowest voltage of 18v and adding the amps. Now my question, is having the smallest panel first limiting the entire system? Say out of the 100 watt panel which was first, it’s like I was getting 80 watts x 3. Should the size and order of the panel make the difference?

The order doesn't matter. His theory is wrong however.

Your theory on panels in parallel is wrong. The power company have different generators of different sizes connected to the grid all at the same time. The panels have reversing diodes as part of their circuitry. The effective voltage would not be the voltage of the smallest panel - it will be an average of the output voltage of the panels.
@asubhan24177 күн бұрын
I have tested this before and it is as it is as demonstrated in the video
@jm6604-c4d6 күн бұрын
Wrong; the effective voltage will be the highest voltage panel, the diodes on the lower voltage panels will be reverse biased so there will be no current from the other panels. If you have different panels the only way to get efficient power from them all is a separate mppt controller on each.

Yes but electrical company have a network that every generator entry in parallel under strongly rules and circumstances. 1) phase , 2)voltage , 3)frequency. Every generator gives to network the power that is made to give.

Is he saying if one has a panel of say 45vdc output and another of say 24vdc output connected in parallel then the measured voltage would be the smaller of the 2? Incorrect. Not so. It would be an average of the 2.
@jonlightsonnochaway11 күн бұрын
@@eddietee6305 so in parallel, it doesn’t use the smaller of a voltage, but an average?
@einyv10 күн бұрын
Not according to Rich solar:Wiring in Parallel When mixing panels with different wattages but similar voltages, the best way to wire them would be in parallel. To calculate this, you add the amperage of the two panels and multiply that number by the lowest Max Voltage between the two panels to get the total watts.

I want to See the panel plugs tied to a Bus bar? You say it like they just plug together or something.

Remove mc4, pare back sheathing, crimp bootlace ferrule, tighten busbar screwdown. Repeat until job done.🫡
