An excellent project Dean. Simple, inexpensive and easy to make. Very good tips on the sanding process. Cherry burnishes nicely. When I have to sand the ends of a piece like this I chuck the sanding mandrel in the lathe. That way I have both hands available to hold the work piece. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.

Another great project. This would be a great table filler at shows. I would expect that any of the actual hard woods would work nicely, especially the tight grained woods. I normally wouldn’t even think about a muddler, but for doing shows I think it would be a good one. Well done!

Hey, Dean! I've made about a dozen of these, but I like the elegant and straightforward shape you turned. It's perfect. Also, You burn with a guitar string and you have slightly long nails on your right hand. Guitar player? Great video. Keep 'em coming!

Hello. I like this project, and you did a nice job demonstrating as usual. Can you tell me what type/brand of sandpaper you were using? The courser grits looked very flexible. I'd like to find some like that. Heavy, stiff backing has it's place, but for some items flexibility really helps.
