How to work a crochet steek reinforcement

How to reinforce a steek.
Steeking your knitting is when you cut a circular piece of fabric to make an opening or to make it lay flat such as my Snowy Shawl design or a colorwork cardigan. Before cutting your steek, you need to reinforce the stitches on either side so that your knitting does not unravel.
The crochet slip stitch reinforcement method shown in this tutorial is simple and requires only a crochet hook and some extra yarn.

This is perfect, I've been wildly annoyed with the loose edge stitches and massive floats on my faux-round swatches so far and I've decided going with this method and sacrificing the swatch yarn is more my preference. Thank you for the instructions!
