When closing a Hunter case watch you do not just snap it shut. The metal on the case is softer than the steel retaining bar and if you snap it shut all the time you will wear out the retaining groove in the case. You should always push down on the crown and hold it down until the case is shut and then let the crown back up.

0:49 The clip on the end of the chain is actually meant for your pants/trousers. The proper pocket watch chain ending for a waistcoat/vest is actually a T-bar/Albert bar. I don't mean to be rude, so I do apologize if I come off as such. I will admit though, the four styles of pocket watches in the video are neat. The steampunk ones may be my favorites. 3:17 The fact that you can make the belt clip end work with a waistcoat, that is clever. I also like the suit you have on the mannequin, reminds me of Phoenix Wright from Ace Attorney.

Of course you can. Both formal and informal. For formal I usually go with a chain with a t bar through one of the button holes, then I put the watch in the waist coat pocket. For informal I'd recommend a key attach somewhere around your belt with a cord tied to the fob of the watch. Don't put anything else in you pocket with the watch though, as this will acrath and damage the case.

Alright short stuff, you are breaking all types of rules here .that is a belt clip . To connect the fob to the waistcoat you will need what it’s called an Albert bar.. And that pocket is probably real you just need to quit cheating and bust the thread and that’s where the watch goes. You wouldn’t harm those lovely nails darling ...the only jacket pocket that is acceptable for a pocket watch is where your pocket where normally goes. And in this case, you connect Bob to the lapel button hole. You blokes across the pond made the rules

Gentlemen wear COATS. A potato wears a jacket. Never snap a Hunter watch closed, always use the button to secure closure and release once in place. Traditionally the watch was in a waistcoat with a floating T bar and secured in the corresponding waistcoat pocket was the key. Most pocket watches are "keyless" winding. On one end of my chain is a gold propelling pencil and on the other a pocket watch. I have full and half hunters, some gold and others in white metal. Some keep better time than others (indicative that a service is needed) and, depending on the occasion the choice of watch is important - large ones in the day time and smaller in the evening. The chains which you display seem to lack discretion and indicative of substance. They draw the eye, unnecessarily to try and give the illusion of class. A clunky chain is indicative of manual labour whereas a fine chain one more associated with managerial responsibility. A simple platinum bar with gold chain links does the job nicely for me, works well when I need to discuss portfolio with stockbroker, formal dress at weddings, evening dress when necessary or mourn at another funeral.
