I really liked the one with the blue face you have. It reminds me of a Timex wristwatch I had in the late 1970's. It really took a licking my second tour overseas. I'd thought about getting a pocket watch for years especially when I worked as a consumer electronics repairman and always had to take my wristwatch off while working on some items to keep from being shocked. Working as an over-the-road driver at times I'd also snag my wristwatch. In 2017 I bought a cheap pocket watch to see how I'd like carrying one. I quickly found out that it is a very good conversation starter and a lot of young people can't tell time looking at the hands. One person even asked me if I had seen a digital version.🤦🏽‍♂️ I have not worn jeans since the 1970's and don't do suits. I wear Dickies pants and shirts and will put the watch in the right shirt pocket and run the chain to the other pocket or to the top button hole. Otherwise it's in the right pants pocket. I might have to get another one for my next birthday.

I'm a technician and my wristwatch will often bang or catch on equipment, I use the watch pocket in the bluejeans to carry an inexpensive pocketwatch. the Russian ones are tough and dirt cheap

I own 20 very old pocket watches but I collected them just because particularities on the mechanisms and all them were purchased under 100 dlls so very cheap my collection but interesting.

I have a watch similar to the Hebdomas you have, but it doesn’t run. I’ve had it looked at and was told someone attempted a fix using solder. Not sure what one would solder inside, but was told it wasn’t worth fixing.

@@TalkingTimepieces Oh, Queens! A New Amsterdam accent :) But maybe some German did creep in, since that's indeed very similar to Dutch. I'm from Holland myself, living in Limburg. Back in Holland they tell me I sound somewhat Limburgish. A friend of mine has a beautiful pocket watch with moon phase complication. Unfortunately, I can't remember the manufacturer's name, but he owns it because his skin reacts to wrist watches. I also recently learned that that little pocket at the front side of most jeans and other pants was especially designed to fit pocket watches.

I believe I gave several reasons, not the least being that a pocket watch is an inexpensive way to get an interesting mechanical complication.

I have an 18k 1924 Patek Phillippe pocket watch that keeps perfect time and at $5000, it was affordable.
