"I hope that's been helpful", you say... Well, immensely, actually! A very nice introduction to a very pretty ground that I can certainly imagine using in the future. I've copied the pattern down in my little "notebook of possibilities" and saved the video so I can return to it when I'm done with my present little sampler bookmark of other stitches. Also, you accidentally made gimps seem quite simple in this video. They've always scared me a little - but here it looks quite simple how you've worked it into the lace, and not scary at all! I should try something with a gimp in the near future...

Thanks for the comment. Gimps aren’t scary at all, at least not in lace! I have done another video on gimps and covered them in more details than here, so check that one out too.

@@LouiseWestLace Gimps ARE scary! But for my next project (when I'm done with my current one) I will take a deep breath and... Draw in a gimp? And definitely check out gimp videos, though that sounds like an odd thing to write...

I have just followed your video for Brabant ground nd this looks to be worked the same, but am assuming it’s the position of the pin holes making it a slightly different pattern.

The angle of the ground makes a huge difference in lace. When I did city and guilds lace many years ago, had to do an exercise where we drafted the basic 6 petal flower on three different angle grids, the difference was incredible. A great exercise to see the effect of the angle when designing .

@@LouiseWestLace that sounds like an excellent experiment to do. Thank you for sharing that.

What kind of card stock is the brown cardboard you buy to make patterns?

Just clarifying that a honeycomb stitch is - CTT, pin, CTT in a couple of places you accidentally describe it as a 'half stitch,' or 'cross and twist.'
@LouiseWestLace2 жыл бұрын
CTT is the same as half stitch and twists, but yes, honeycomb stitch is CTT or half stitch and twist, depending on how you learnt the basics.
