it is also good to do two bands of gaffer type tape over the wrapped case, makes it harder to roll back the film by the thief and then wrap it back.

Very quick way to take off a baggage handler as it makes handling so much more difficult. Cling wrap is very hard to grip with our gloves.

2005 in Israel, was a presentation of different kind of "special film" luggage packing machines for the airports, the reason was, to find a machine what can reduce the damage from theft. Where a machine was presented, what uses three layer of special protective sleeve film material, to seal the suitcases air tight and protect it from mechanical damage, by sliding the suitcase trough a special thermo tunnel. During the sealing there was also some aerosol installed in the wrapping, so if damage accrues, an alarm was triggered. What also sends a signal to the police of unauthorized access to the luggage. While He, Investor "Grigry Abramovich Berezin was a live - basic tests were carried out ......; after his death the project was frozen. I have heard they tear open the wrap which is done at home or outside the Airport for checking.. They dont tear open which is wrapped at Airport.. Is it some true or just crap???

They can open your suitcase for different reasons. If they see something through the airport x-ray machine, they will ask you to open it so they can check what it is. When I was in Utah, my suitcase was randomly checked, and they left note, it was a bit messy but nothing was missing. If you are using padlock on the zip of your suitcase, you better use the TSA lock , they have their way of opening it without destroying.

But the luggage goes through X-ray machines before going on the plane. If something is put in the suitcase after X-ray it cannot be yours can it.

I don't know where you're at, this entire roll is less than $20 in amazon. You can use it for many travels. There are also cling wrap in dollar store, and 2 rolls or $2 should be good enough to cover a medium size suitcase.

Yes you can do it at the airport. But they charge well too, if you know what I mean. You do this to protect your suitcase from theft.

Shrink wrap and cling wrap are almost the same thing. You can get some of this in dollar tree.

I had this done by a professional machine in Spain. When I arrived in the UK every bit of film was taken off!!! Waste of 10 euros. I have had cigarettes and tobacco stolen out of my suitcase.
