I didn't know that line but I'm surprised it's in such a common song as that. I've heard that song so much in the goth scene I don't really pay attention lol
@Tony_Collins Жыл бұрын
@@GwenActually the line is not from a Bauhaus song, but rather from a wonderfully twisted tv series called ''It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia''! One of the main characters (Charlie) is getting help from two other main characters (Mac & Dennis) setting up an account on a dating site. When asked what he likes, he says these words to his friends, sending them into a combination of confusion and frustration. You could say that they're ''acting their reaction...''

Well, I like it 😂 great effort..! I absolutely love Bauhaus, I'm 57 and I saw them when I was 16 in 1982, by that time I'd been a fan for about 18 months, so since school days, and I still think they're genius, their music is so unique and was so innovative in 1980, and I understood it because I grew up on gothic themes in the 70s as I spent my childhood weaned on Hammer horror movies. I give myself some credit for having good taste as a kid because most of my school mates hated Bauhaus, they preferred the Specials or Madness (I did love the Specials too...), but they just didn't get it, not many did back then, although Bauhaus had a following. My favourite Bauhaus song..? There can be only one ... MASK! Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant, and I still listen to Bauhaus regularly to this day, one of my top playlists on Spotify. Also love Double Dare and Rose Garden Funeral of Sores... Sheer greatness!

When first attempting a Peter Murphy impression in my youth, it instantly occurred to me that he was imitating Bowie, so I took on and learned both in tandem. Bowie has a much more expansive range, so I can only do some of his songs whereas I can nail anything Murphy sings. The real fun comes when you start applying Murphy's voice to shit like Kim Carnes or Neil Diamond, kills every time.
