I love this! I'll be using clips of it to show my ESOL students before preparing for a debate. One note however, the music was a bit loud, so it made it harder for the foreign language students to grasp the words. I hope you keep making videos, but I hope your sound engineer can decrease the volume of the music when a character is talking. Thank you so much for this video. The signposting, visual cues, and examples were great! The kids love seeing the characters instead of just hearing me talking. ;)

Thanks so much for the videos! I really enjoy the way you have broken things down in such an understandable way. I'd definitely like to see more debates like the "Computers should replace teachers" one. And simpler one's like "Cats are better pets than dogs." Maybe you could do a video on the different types of debates and possibly other debate formats. I will be doing debates in my esl class, but they'll be more like not-so-formal mini debates with only 4 or 5 students, lasting for about 15 minutes (definitely less than 30 minutes). I'm wondering what the best way to conduct them is (the best format). Any advice?

Wow that's a tough topic. I would assign your first speaker to think of worldly issues on why there needs to be discrimination on job qualifications based on gender. Think of the big picture scenarios in the world where this might be important. I would get your second speaker to discuss the everyday issues why discrimination in some jobs would require a gender bias. It's not an easy topic and one I don't agree with, but hopefully this will give your a starting point. Good luck.
