How to Write an Awesome College Essay on a Common Topic

Hello! I have a question that is a bit off this specific topic but I was wondering… as someone who is a senior in high school and is just now learning about scholarships/grants, do I have to apply for them (whether government or private institutions give them out) after I get accepted into a certain school or can I just go on good scholarship websites and start applying? You can apply for scholarships without being admitted to college yet. When you are awarded a scholarship, the organization will reach out so you can confirm which school you will attend and where they should send the money.
