yes, you can follow the same approach. Do it first using user interference and then prepare script.

It means, your geometry is not completely fixed. It will show rigid body motion. Check that your geometry is sufficiently constraint or not ?

We will try to do that. For weld, transient thermal analysis is useful with element birth and dead option.

Your problem is not clear but if you are looking for some automation, you can write APDL Script ro run the whole model and to get the results too.
