Turns out George Lucas himself stated that the lightsabers were supposed to be held as if they were heavy because of the amount of energy in the blades. That why in episode IV, they only held them with two hands, but as they progressed, he wanted more intense battles, so he incorporated the one-handed techniques as Luke became more skilled! It was said in an interview.
@Forestdude9000Ай бұрын
Yeah, my headcanon is the hilts are heavy, and the blade is *almost* weightless, which makes it even more difficult to wield. It is light enough you can't rely on gravity, but heavy enough that maneuvering the dense hilt is made awkward, and wrist movements alone won't do it. That's why non-force users and those untrained in the Jedi arts struggle so much.

Thats why Andor was good, the Characters had reasons to be doing things. Like the attack on the imperials on Cassains Adoptive mothers planet, had an Emotional reason, they weren’t letting them carry out their traditions so the populists got angry, and then a fight ensued. The Officer that betrayed the empire lost the love of his life because of the Empire. The kid had a view and an ideal, that the Empire was trying to stamp out. They all had reasons to side against the Empire and fight with what would become the Rebellion.

Vaguely reminds me of some made up head cannon I spouted on a starwars RP Gmod server when I was younger. I made a comment that the most dangerous part of blasters was the heat it would transfer to the target. That even without a full hit or a lot of visual damage the heat was boiling blood and rupturing internals as well as charing the immediate flesh. To the point that if it didn’t hit armor the bolt just getting to close to bare skin could actually cause some burns. Sometimes ponder trying to join one of those servers again.

9:27 I just realized something in this section, I think Kylo’s lightsaber was the only one with such a violet looking blade, looked like the flames out of a rocket whenever he ignited it…. Random thought, maybe that’s why he wields it like a heavy blade, because the energy release is _actually a jet_ , forcing the blade back into his hand He. Hates. Igniting it, and the Kyber crystal is so turbulent because it knows Kylo came from pure people, and it itself Hates being ignited in this way. So much so that the crystal tries to pull its energy back into itself, trying to resist any swing kylo might make, resulting in Kylo muscling and even using the force to push the blade along where he swings at🤔 (This has been a crackpot headcanon by a fan, I hope y’all enjoy your days🤘)

@TheMandaloreFettАй бұрын

@therealspeedwagon145119 күн бұрын
Lightsabers aren’t made of light actually. They’re more akin to a beam of plasma generated from the sword. This is also how all lasers in Star Wars are generated. They’re all just bolts of plasma whose colors are dictated by the quality of the tibana gas used to generate them. Lower quality and cheaper tibana gas used by the Rebels, Separatists, and space pirates are red. Whereas the higher quality tibana gas used by the Galactic Empire is green. The blue plasma bolts the Republic uses are sort of a balance between the two. Lightsabers though are different. It’s the will of the user and the power of the kyber crystal personified. The color of a lightsaber is determined by the personality of the wielder and what sort of Jedi they are. Blue are Jedi Guardians who specialize mostly in the art of lightsaber wielding, green are Jedi Councilors who mainly specialize in the Force and only use their lightsaber for defense or as a secondary weapon. Jedi Sentinels, although almost entirely extinct by the Clone Wars, were a balance between the two and used yellow lightsabers. A Sith’s red lightsaber is based on their hate, fears and suffering. It’s a Sith tradition to bleed your kyber crystals once you have fallen to the dark side: to imbue your hatred into your kyber crystal and literally bleed it red. So yes, lightsabers do have a bit of weight to them, but nowhere near as much as Disney thinks. A meter long by 3 centimeter wide beam of plasma won’t weigh much, but for some reason Disney just thinks lightsabers are just glowing baseball bats, or those lightsaber toys we all used to play with, and that’s probably what first comes to mind when Disney writers make the stories. Write what you know after all.
