A huge thank you for these videos. I am a master degree student who are just starting to write my thesis proposal. I am still figuring out my topic of my research but already have some ideas. After that, I always get stuck with writing the background of the study properly. And yes, I am too having the difficulties of scattered idea in order to write my background study. Every single problems mentioned in these videos I actually experiencing at the moment. So, once again, a huge thank you for addressing that part. Now I at least have the idea of how to write a proper background of the study using this particular technique. Indeed, it all.must start with passion otherwise it would be a huge hassle in the process. I have learned so much from the 4 part videos, including on how to identify research gap video separately.

Hi Aldrei Ann, there is no absolute, one-size-fits-all rule on the number of paragraphs or pages in a background of the study. What is important is you have fully justified the reason why you wish to pursue your proposed research. However, normally, the rule of thumb for a background of the study that uses 12 font size, Times New Romans, 1 inch margin all sides, is 3-5 pages. this is true even for master's and PhD thesis. I hope this helps.
