Great explanation of the system over these last few videos..I’m an Xert user of nearly 2 years and it’s a bit complicated at first. Keep up the good work 👏

Thanks David. More planned for this winter.

Really appreciate these videos. Have been using Xert for about 2 months now and i had no idea how to maximize it's effectiveness, and my own. (I don't read instruction manuals either). Thank you!

Thanks for the kind words. More coming soon.

Another great vid, keep up the great work filling the gaps that Xert seem to miss. Their UI is not the most user friendly or intuitive. Sort of like an iPhone where most people probably never get to find out how how to use/find most of its features unless kind people like yourself point out the features and how to best use them. Thanks again!

Thanks for this Dazza. The Xert own vids are very ‘academic’. I’m hoping my approach is more ‘practical’. Thanks so much for the feedback. I have some more planned arround maintaining fitness through the summer season.

these videos are the best practical introduction to xert i’ve seen. it’s possibly bad timing, but after showing all that painstaking cable-routing on the tt bike, sram have just released wireless satellite shifters (doing away with the blip box).

Thanks. Think the bar end shifters are still better on extensions. Maybe on the base bar, but then there would be empty holes. It’s about time they ditched the blip box though.

So was the goal to draw down the MPA to 451 watts on every interval?
@Mapdec2 жыл бұрын
No. Goal was to hit 451 watts for 20sec. But that’s hard to do accurately . So TTE rested is 1:29, and efforts of about 20sec should bring TTE down by 20sec, and bring this MPA down about the right amount. It’s a little check to make sure you don’t go too hard on the first intervals and make the gradual MPA draw down.

Hi Paul, what I can’t find anywhere is how to add your own activities. Yoga, Walking. Xert doesn’t pick these activities up even if uploaded on Garmin.
@Mapdec Жыл бұрын
No. You can add manually though. For running there is a separate profile.

Can you please make an exact step by step video on how to get a xert workout on to my garmin 840

This is what the Xert support service is for. You pay for it, use it. They will help you

I really want to use this app outside; however, I am not buying a Garmin to do so, as all of my stuff is Wahoo. And, with the weather getting better, I will just have to use TrainingPeaks. The idea is great, but limited to inside for me, which, like I said, I am not willing to buy a new computer just for that. Awesome explanation of the workout though.

I’ve been using MPA & TTE for a few years , I like to set TTE at 105% of FTP so I know how much hard effort I’ve got left , I find it works well with Anerobic workouts in isolation BUT ! if you’re on a group ride at Tempo stroke Sweetspot for 3-4 hrs you’re aerobically exhausted and because you haven’t spent much time above threshold it’s telling you you’ve got 20 mins at 105% left !!!! 😳 , no way on earth have I got that much left, but if I use it for 30/15’s it’s very accurate .

An interesting thing to try here would be to build your intervals in a custom workout on target MPA rather than %Ftp. You could further improve the workout by giving a target MOA for the recovery too enabling the rest period to adapt.

@@Mapdec I think my issue is I’m very Anaerobic , my MPA can be 1404 watts and my 15 sec power 966 watts , BUT !! my FTP is 260ish , used to be much higher but I’m 60yrs old and endurance power goes down far quicker , whereas my max short power hasn’t shifted much at all because I’ve kept doing heavy deadlifts , muscle strength is much easier to maintain than your respiratory system .

It’s a good hypothesis, and well done for lifting in your 60s. It’s the way forward. Stay strong.
