Wonder if you can modify them for chain driven sprockets

Hey, I have a 05 Kodiak 450. After many checks, spark fuel valve timing etc. I noticed the piston is not moving in the cyclinder. The engine timing is staying correct. But piston don’t move. I held both sides of the crank and can’t rotate one side without the other. If it broke a rod I would expect to see a hole in the block. Broken woodruff key possibly? Looking forward to your response. Thank you

Any idea what bearing that is behind the stator? A part number or name for it would be greatly appreciated. My search has not went well. Thanks In advance and great video!

Are you talking about the one-way bearing? Part # 1UY-15590-01-00. Thanks for watching. Let me know if this answers your question.

I might need a new piston and cylinder in my 97 Kodiak 400....what are your thoughts on reusing the timing chain and sprockets along with reusing the same valves. My symptoms are hard start when its cold and blue smoke. bought a compression checker today but its to big and wont thread in......any thought?

I have trouble with my Kodiak 400 backfiring and doesn't start. did the carb, valves adjustment and all. eventually what I found is when I align the TDC line on the sprocket, the flywheel TDC T mark is not there at all. Huge mistake. so when I adjusted the valves counting on the flywheel T mark, I was so off that I had a valve gap 25 times larger than it should! crazy. Any ideas how to rectify and get the flywheel aligned as the sprocket? I did check the piston position while aligning the sprocket TDC line and indeed it was right at the top, also valves at the top so it is the flywheel that is off and I dont know how to fix it....

I’m going through this same problem and it’s actually a sheared woodruff key making the timing 180 degrees off.

@@ChiefRich49 good you found the cause as it kills the engine. such a tiny thing and what a mess. in a way, a bad design. should be something more reliable than this. well, this is how they get more money i guess....
