This is in direct conflict with the account. John Gotti gave prior to his death in federal prison. According to Gotti’s account, Tommy got trolled, and was told he was going to become a maid man, which is true towhat was shown in the movie. However, Tommy was not killed by a gunshot wound to the head. Apparently, he was surrounded by several bat wielding hitters, who went. to work on him, and beat him to death. After that he was thrown into a vat of concrete and tossed over some bridge in the greater New York City area. To this date, his body has never been recovered.

It's a simple story. His own ppl killed him. It's almost always the guys you run with or over see. This particular gentleman got greedy and didn't like rules. But the greed is what did him in. He would have stayed protected had he made sure his crew and family ate well getting a piece of all his incomes but he hid earnings from them and then started asking for pieces he didn't deserve.

I read somewhere that he had tried to rape or maybe rape is to harsh a word. He came on very aggressively to Ray Liottas character’s wife( forgot his name) and Pauly Paul Vario i believe was banging her or having an affair with her (her husband was in prison at the time) so she went to Pauly, told him about the incident and he proceeded to tell John Gotti about the Billy Bats situation and his (Tommy Desimone’s) involvement in it so John Gotti put a hit on Desimone for killing Billy Bats character since he was a made man and Desimone wasnt. Thats kind of the reason she turns to pauly for help in the movie right before they become informants. It was Scorcese’s way of kinda subtlety droppingthe idea without disrespecting Liottas character too much. I dont think he wanted the whole world to kno that his wife was out banging as much as he was.

This guy got it all wrong! Tommy DeSimone was killed for murdering William Bentvena aka Billy Batts like depicted in the film. Not only was Billy a high ranking well respected earner for the Gambino crime family who had just came back home after serving a 10 year prison bid, but he was the childhood best friend of John Gotti. His death infuriated Gotti and for months John conspired to have Tommy killed but decided to keep it on the hush from the other families and crews. It’s said he had word put out to have Tommy be left alone and in fact let him know he will become a made man soon. It’s said this tricked Tommy into thinking he was going to join La Cosa Nostra like he always wanted. They lured him in by inviting him to a sit down to become a made guy one night and instead he was brutally tortured and murdered by John Gotti personally and his crew inside of a basement underneath a club in the Bronx. His body has never been found.
