He recorded it prior to the Columbus signing. However for anyone confused and thought Sean wasn't a Boston bruins. He isn't, Sean kuraly signed with Columbus (4x2.5)

Whats forgotten (kind of): The Samsonov story came full circle when he signed in Carolina. The 7th pick in '97 (Samsonov) was traded to the Bruins from Hartford for Glen Wesley.

@@lucasbeechey5025 Norris was part of the trade, and sens flipped some of the players involved for other picks which have also lead to some really promising prospects. I think it'd also be cool to talk about how balcerd was part of the deal and he's now back on sharks. Like I said it might be too early just to make a video that doesn't end in like 5 mins, but considering the potential impacts the has on both the sharks and the sens future makes it very interesting. Not to mention how it originally looked like a fleece for San Jose with them making the finals, then the tables turning real quickly a year later. Idk I think there's some fun content to discuss there.

I remember when the Bruins had the 1-2 punch of Joe Thornton and Sergei Samsonov, and the 2004 rookie of the year in goalie Andrew Raycroft, as their core... If you told me then that by the time the Bruins won a Stanley Cup they would have _none_ of those guys, I probably would have said you were crazy.

Dangle, you NEED to look at the Brendan Shanahan to St. Louis deal from the early 90's, the deal is CRAZY! It eventually leads to the St. Louis Blues drafting Jordan Binnington in 2011, it goes on that long and is technically still going. Plus, at least 4 or 5 future Hall of Famers trade hands at some points on the Hartford and Detroit side!

Let's not forget how the Bruins got Samsonov. I believe he was a product of the Glen Wesley trade (to Hartford/Carolina), who the Bruins drafted with the pick acquired in the Cam Neely trade. Check me on that one.

An interesting point when you come back Steve: LA didn’t want to trade Jones. It came out later that (I apologize for it maybe being incorrect) Doug Wilson called Dean Lombardi and told him he was going to offer sheet Jones and with the Kings on the cap, they’d be unable to match. So, they shipped him.

That’s not weird at all. The majority of players take atleast a year or two to jump into the nhl, more take nearly five-six. Rasmus Dahlin is 3 years younger than Kirill Kaprisov, and he’s been in the nhl for longer.

My teenaged self was pissed when the Bruins traded Barry Pederson to Vancouver in 1986. The return was amazing though--Cam Neely and the draft pick for Glen Wesley, who was traded to Hartford for 3 first-round picks! One of those was used to draft Samsonov.

I am all for teams trading draft picks when it makes sense. Draft picks are unknown commodities. The team acquiring them could pick a guy who never plays. It’s easy to look back and say “why did they trade that pick? Look who they could have got!” But in reality, who says you would have gotten that guy anyway?
