Montour was traded for a 2021 3rd, used on D Stiven Sardarian. Him and Huglen are both in the NCAA currently while O'Regan signed elsewhere. So there's an update on that part. For the Jets, some updates to the branches: -Declan Chisholm was claimed off waivers in early 2024 by the Wild, he played only a couple games for the Jets. -Roslovic was traded with Laine for Dubois and a 2022 3rd in 2021. The pick was used on C Danny Zhilkin. Dubois was subsequently traded to LA in 2023 for Vilardi, Iafallo, Kupari and a 2024 2nd. So the original Kane deal that already is looking like a massive win for the Jets also allowed them to get another massive trade win 8 years later.
@machf17354 жыл бұрын
ADDENDUM: As of 2021-01-23, this trade tree just gained a massive branch: Jack Roslovic + Patrik Laine to CLB for: Pierre-Luc Dubois + 3rd Round (2021) Had Steve held off on making this video, that acquisition may well have ended up being the headline of this whole trade tree.

Gotta LOVE Chevy...and when Chisholm joins Heinola and Samberg with big club along with Pionk/Morrissey and Poolman with depth of Beaulieu...WOW! our D are stacked and YOUNG!!
@reaganharder14804 жыл бұрын
Stacked D? Now there's a change... this year the winnipeg D was one of the worst in the league. But i guess, with the prospects we have, given a few years to develop, and maybe sign a big veteran to show the youngsters how it's done, Chevy can have the blueline up to dangerous fashion fairly quick. If we can get brossoit to consistently play as well as he has in his better seasons, and get the D in line without losing too much in the way of forwards, we may have a cup-contending team.
@Awesometrax4 жыл бұрын
@@reaganharder1480 start of the year you would be accurate. It didn't help that there was a string of injuries on the back end until late February too. But Pionk has been great, we added DeMelo who will probably end up returning next year, and Morrissey has been better after a rough start to the year. With Byfuglien's cap hit gone, they may be able to add someone like Pietrangelo, Krug, or Gostisbehere in the off-season.
@reaganharder14804 жыл бұрын
@@Awesometrax as i see it, Pionk, DeMelo, and Morrissey are all solid 2nd pairing guys, who can play 1st pairing if they have to. If we can sign a solid 1st pairing man with the freed up cap space, that gives the freedom to shuffle the D pairings around and get guys playing at their ideal spot in the lineup, and then things look alright. Krug could be a good pickup, though i think he has other places higher on his list than winnipeg. Not terribly familiar with Gostisbehere. Pietrangelo is one I didn't know was a possibility, but i think it could work.
@Awesometrax4 жыл бұрын
@@reaganharder1480 only issue with Pietrangelo is that he would probably command a ton of money, and I'm sure Chevy wouldn't make that kind of signing long term. Gostisbehere could be a cap dump although he is offensive minded. If I had to guess, he would be the most likely acquisition.
@reaganharder14804 жыл бұрын
@@Awesometrax yeah, Chevy wouldn't likely make big offers on a guy like Pietrangelo. He might offer big money on a one or two year deal, and then extend it if he plays up to his paycheck, but my observation has been that he's one of the more cautious GMs in the league, so odds are Jets won't be topping the offer sheet for Pietrangelo. If Chevy thinks Gostisbehere's play style would fit well in the team, i'm sure he'll get an offer. There's been enough cases of underperforming players lighting it up on a new team, and Winnipeg seems to have a good handle on what works well within their team, so if they sign him, I'd expect him to play up to his paycheck.
