I'm from Springfield! I remember when those lines were still in regular use with active signals in the 80s. The line the train is initially on is ex-DT&I and sees 2 trains a day. The line it merges on to is ex-Erie Lackawana. It used to have much more traffic. There used to be an interlocking tower there as well.

"B" in all the yrs I lived in Springfield and "hiked" the tracks, I still had to look at the map to see where this was, when I saw this was NW of the Golf course and Snyder Park, realized my friends and I never got that far out. Thanks for "introducing" me to it. Nice Video

LM&M 55! Sat in the cab of her back in 2009, and rode behind her a couple times as a kid on the LM&M Turtle Creek Railway train. Crazy to see her leave that section of the old CL&N track for the first time in many years!

You're in Springfield. Springboro is 35 miles away, as the crow flies. I appreciate the Google Map you always show. Helps me get my bearing about where the train is coming from and where its going. And this diamond is only a mile or so from a dead mall! (another one of my fascinations)

There's a junction like this one in Fremont, CA at mouth of Niles Canyon next Alameda Creek. where a line of the old Southern Pacific crosses a line of the old Western Pacific. Today, thanks to a series of acquisitions and mergers, both are tracks are now part of the Union Pacific. Trains still go through there. A control tower was once there but was replaced by computerized remote control in 1982. The trains make the same noise as the ones in this video when their wheels go over the wide gaps in the rails.
