I got a hold of my mates flagship because I wanted to test it. My first thought was, this doesn’t feel as stiff and locked in as I predicted. Because of my average riding skills, I asked a guy off the shop who rides way beyond my level, he took and run. Looked at my friend and said yeah that’s done. This isn’t how a flagship should feel. 😅 but it lasted him 5-6 years as his only board (for trips to the big mountains) next to his park board he uses in the dome. Guessing 150-180 days. So was money well spend. Got himself a pick your line unic and is loving it.

I bought a lumberjack last year. Absolutely love the board. One of my favorite boards I've ever ridden. I work at the mountain so I get about 100+ days a season. It's still in near perfect condition and I've probably gotten about 70 days of riding in it

Surprisingly fun and informative vid. I thought the newer construction might have made these last a bit more, but wood is wood. On the other side of the spectrum, how many days do you thinks it takes a board to break in? Where in that lifespan curve do you think a board hits its sweet spot?
@AngrySnowboarder2 жыл бұрын
Depends on how hard/often you ride. Had boards that broke in after 10 to 15 days had boards that took almost a whole season.

Hi. I just purchased the 2023 ride agenda based upon your recommendation. What do you recommend for good all around all mountain bindings with newer technology?.. currently have Burton reflex step on bindings with DC Control Step On - BOA® Snowboard Boots. Reviews say the Burton step on are good but limited to flex side to side. I want to learn correctly so what do you feel are great boots and bindings that have good technology and will last to intermediate riding?

Hey dude, noticed some stress fractures in the top sheet of my archetype (cartel x reflex bindings), I suspect it’s nothing to worry about and is just clear coat but saw this video pop up and thought I’d see if you’ve seen anything similar on your archetypes. Cracks are near the front of the binding, not the malavita gouges at the heals.

Ty for another great vid. Question. Do boards get broken in and get softer? Last year you recommended the Salomon Craft to me. Like the ignorant asshole I am I finally pulled the trigger, but on totally different gear. I got a Nitro T1 152 (I´m 5,11 172) with Nitro Zero bindings and Vans OG Boa. Board should be a medium flex but it feels kinda stiff. Probably just old and useless and probably feels different the more I ride it.

Thanks for the information Avran. Does the age of the board impact this also? Obviously from what you’ve said they’ll last a few years but just thought I’d ask.

My boards tend to get railed or edge high. At the start of the season i had my cafe racer tuned and they handed it back to me and said they couldn’t grind the base flat . I went to another tuner and same thing . The board is sharp as hell and rails a turn but if you try and skid stop on ice the board wants to flatten out and catch . A new peace seeker fixed the problem but I think the cafe racer can be saved by someone who will send it through a stone grinder 20 times. BTW peace seeker 155 is more powerful and better edge hold then my 164 cafe racer
@AngrySnowboarder2 жыл бұрын
Doesn’t need a stone grind needs just a edge base and side to take it down.

The most I've ridden on a single board is my Lib Banana Magic for about 50 days over 2 seasons, but I ride in sketchy terrain a lot. The first thing that gives out for me is the base. Multiple core shots, p-tex patches flaking off, metal edges bent up, sidewall busted clean open on the nose from hitting a rock. I hate retiring a good board, but it was a bit too narrow to deep carve anyways. Rocking a Burton Skeleton Key, Bataleon Carver, and NS Shaper Twin now.
@Dav1dChui2 жыл бұрын
Don't want to be spamming, but here's a legitimate question. My lil bro only rides 1 board and has been riding a Bataleon Magic Carpet for last 2 seasons about 80 days, still riding it. The biggest issue I see is the binding inserts were a bit loose and rattling where he put his original stance, so I set everything back by 1 insert. Would you recommend not riding those original loose inserts? He prefers a twin stance but now has to ride with a little setback.
@AngrySnowboarder2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like he pulled the inserts. Definitely don’t recommend.
