Over the past few weeks, I have actually been looking for an explanation of the relationship between the major scale and triads and this was perfectly presented. I swear that you have the best approach to demonstrating music theory to players of all levels no filler, no getting lost in tiny details, just useful tools for guitarists to teach themselves at home. thank you so much for what you have done for not just me as a guitarist but the guitar community as a whole!

Hey man I’m colorblind to the max. Please make the future videos have more contrast in colors, it’s kinda hard to see when it’s red/green. You should do like all black, and when you show what you’re playing make it white! Or like red/blue!! Great video though brother.

Thanks for the videos(s). Your accelerating my progress a lot atm!! Do you have a video on the different positions of the scales? is there a trick to remember these?
@da3248 күн бұрын
I've recently been learning triads two strings at a time. I'm curious, If I use the triads you're showing here and know that they are moveable. Am I accomplishing the same thing? In other words, by learning all of the triads in this example and moving them around in different keys, are they in turn covering the triads on all 6 strings? I can see your example being way more useful as I can see how to use it musically, where learning two strings at a time doesn't help me in that regard. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for all of the lessons!
@andrewclarkeguitar6 күн бұрын
Yes and no. You're only learning one of three inversions for each triad. So there are more to learn eventually. But focus on what you can actually apply before worrying about knowing everything. No point in having 10 ways to play a C major triad if you don't even know how to use one of them.
@LeffeHeffe14 күн бұрын
Hey Andrew, I was wondering do you have this for all caged shapes/major minor somewhere on patreon or on the solo guitar lesson?

I really wish that you showed the 3 note positions you were playing. It's just hard to see what note you're playing as you're fingering. But I do think you're onto something and I'm sure it would help me.

I'm a little confused by your comment here. I showed all of them in the fretboard diagram as I played. Were you looking for something else?

@@andrewclarkeguitar You are correct! For some reason I just did see these in spite of the fact that they are VER CLEAR on the upper part of the screen. My mistake! Sorry!
@frankm258813 күн бұрын
I like the first shape best since I like the triad shapes in it best. But there's no way with my memory I could keep the entire major scale shape in my head while playing. As for major triads I try to concentrate only on the "D" shape, the diagonal shape on strings 2-4 and the "A" straight across on strings 2-4. The others are too hard to remember and quickly fret.
@Lombardgaming90917 күн бұрын
Can i ask you a question? What is the fastest way to memorize the fretboard notes?

Hi, Andrew, at 4:00 when you’re switching Triads and showing how to play them, could you please next time either use WAY more saturated colors, or better yet, just don’t use Red/Green to illustrate the differences, Red/Blue would be much better.🙏🏻 Sorry to bother with this, but being a colorblind person, when Red/Green colors are small enough (like on a phone’s or even iPad screen), and especially when they aren’t saturated enough - it’s near impossible to distinguish the difference you’re trying to illustrate. And as up to 10% of male population can have color blindness (red/green being the most common type), I hope you could make a slight adjustment in your lessons to accommodate folks like me.🫶🏻 If you’d like to see a really good Red/Green difference that certainly works well even for a lot of color blind people - Apple’s case for AirPods has quite an easily distinguishable Amber/Green colors. But it’s still almost always better to just use saturated Red and Blue colors. Otherwise, thank you for your videos! I found the way you teach guitar to be one of the best on KZbin (and I’ve gone through dozens and dozens of channels at this point)!👏🏻👍🏻

Hey! Thank you for pointing this out as it's something I hadn't thought of. Moving forward I'll make sure to use colors that work better for everyone. My apologies!
